Responsibilities & Context

Product Development & Sampling

• Understand buyer’s requirements and interpret tech packs, artwork, and specifications.
• Develop and execute knit garment samples based on buyer requirements.
• Coordinate with design, pattern, and sampling teams to meet quality and timelines.

• Work on costing, pricing, and fabric/yarn selection (including jersey, rib, interlock, fleece, etc.).

Order Execution & Production Follow-Up

• Handle orders from development to final shipment.
• Ensure raw materials (fabric, trims, accessories) are ordered and delivered on time.
• Follow up with production, quality control, and suppliers to ensure timely execution.

• Monitor critical path and production status, ensuring adherence to buyer’s delivery schedules.

Buyer Communication

• Act as the primary point of contact for buyers regarding product updates, approvals, and feedback.
• Organize buyer visits and ensure samples and production are in alignment with expectations.

• Maintain detailed records of buyer correspondence and order tracking.

Costing & Pricing

• Negotiate prices with buyers and suppliers.
• Prepare detailed cost sheets including fabric, trims, labor, and overheads.
• Aim to achieve optimal pricing that meets both buyer budgets and company profitability.

Quality Assurance

• Coordinate with the QA/QC teams to ensure products meet buyer standards.
• Organize pre-production meetings and inline/final inspections.

• Address and resolve any quality issues or buyer complaints.

Team Coordination

• Supervise junior merchandisers and assistants.
• Coordinate between sourcing, production, quality, and logistics departments.

• Train and mentor team members on merchandising processes and buyer requirements.

Documentation & Logistics

• Prepare shipping documents (invoice, packing list, etc.) and coordinate logistics.
• Follow up on LC (Letter of Credit), payments, and other commercial documentation.

• Ensure compliance with buyer and export/import regulations.

Market & Trend Awareness

• Stay updated on fashion trends, fabric innovations, and market conditions.
• Suggest new developments or product lines to buyers based on trend analysis.
