Requirements

Education

  • Master of Social Science (MSS)
  • Masters
  • Master`s Degree in Social Science or other relevant disciplines.
  • But educational qualifications will be relaxed for the over experienced applicants.

Experience

    • At least 5 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): College, NGO

Additional Requirements

  • Age At most 45 years

Experience Requirements:

  • Working Experience: Must have at least 5 years of experience in equivalent position of the relevant Filed.
  • Applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Working experience in Program in a National

Additional Requirements

  • Able to work under pressure and willing to frequent travel to Field area in the Project Area.
  • Knowledge in community development, ability to work under timeline, facilitating participatory training, conducting the workshop, brainstorming sessions, focus group discussions, simulation, seminars, meetings, strong interpersonal skills, team-building capacity, problem-solving skills.
  • Good writing and speaking skills in English and Bangla.
  • Must have computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience to drive Motorcycle and have valid motorcycle driving license.

Responsibilities & Context

Project Name : Sports for Protection, Resilience and Transformation (SPiRiT) ubder the consortium Climate Action at Local Level (CALL)

Job Location : Satkhira District

Tenure of Services Contract:

3 (Three) months probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, based on the performance of the staff and recommendation from the supervisor, the post may be continued till the project’s lifetime.

Job Context:

Breaking the Silence is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 05037, Date: 17 October 2000) and NGOAB (Registration No. 1642, Date: 20 May 2001). The organization works to establish child rights, prevent child abuse and child sexual abuse, prevent child marriage, accelerate child-friendly good governance, improve the quality of education at the primary and pre-primary level, prevent violence against women, empowering children and women. The organization is implementing a project named Sports for Protection, Resilience and Transformation (SPiRiT) ubder the consortium Climate Action at Local Level (CALL) in Satkhira district of Bangladesh . The project will be implemented by the support of ‘ Tdh Foundantion . BTS is going to recruit the ‘Upazila Coordinator’ for the mentioned project and the position’s desk office will be at Satkhira districts.

Job Responsibilities:

Coordination & Communication:

  • Communication and coordination with MHPSS Officer, M&E and Documentation Coordinator and project Management.
  • Have a good understanding in financial procedure (including procurement, all bill & voucher, VAT & Tax, etc) and support District level Finance unit.
  • Support to Accounts and Admin section in financial and logistics management.
  • Keep regular liaison with the other Upazila Coordinator as a team approach.
  • Coordination & networking with government representatives, local elected bodies, parents, committee leaders, sports organization, teachers, adolescent and youths, CSOs and other actors.
  • Regular visit at project sites/location according to decent activities plan.
  • Supervise and guide Community Facilitator and other team members in planning, implementing and review of project activities, ensuring adherence to technical standards, learning and good practices.

Project Implementation:

  • Capacity strengthening of local actors on climate change issues.
  • Guide Sports Coach to conduct regular coaching and support to adolescent and youth groups to organize different sports events.
  • Support to organized Youth-led initiatives to promote climate action.
  • Organize training for Communuty Facilitators , teachers, and project staff on Sports for Protection (S4P) toolkit.
  • Organize regular mentoring sessions for the Community Facilitators
  • Facilitate the process to create over all playing opportunities.
  • Conduct advocacy workshop with relevant stakeholders to share good practices on climate-led initiatives.
  • Coordination with stakeholders to identify referral pathways.
  • Conduct meetings to promote participation of youth in sports for protection initiatives.
  • Facilitate the process to strengthen and establish adolescent and youth groups (including girls club) and equip them with necessary resource for practicing sports in the communities.
  • Conduct community awareness sessions.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the process of distribution of sports materials to target adolescent and youths.
  • Conduct regular sessions with the participants, local actors (e.g. parents, guardians, religious leaders, sports teachers) to facilitate participation of girls and boys in sports of their choice.
  • Ensure quality of process and learning documentation.
  • Assist the Project Manager to prepare monthly, quarterly, half yearly, yearly and other project report.
  • Any other task assigned by Supervisor and /or Senior Management of BTS.

Data Management and Data Protection Principles:

  • Ensure that all staff respect confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines.
  • Ensure that files, registers and computer databases are used in an appropriate and correct manner and ensure Union Facilitators adhere to Information Sharing and Data Protection Protocol.

MEAL and Reporting:

  • Work closely with the monitoring and evaluation team, provide support to develop and implement appropriate monitoring, evaluation and learning systems for project interventions.
  • Provide timely inputs to meet reporting requirements and timeline.
  • Support in preparing quality and timely reports for donors and Senior Management with relevant materials.
  • Ensure good practices are captured, documented and disseminated at project level and thematic programme level.

Others: Be able and willing to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations, when needed and any other task assigned by Supervisor and /or Senior Management of BTS.


Compensation & Other Benefits

  • Gross: Taka 57,000/= per month
  • 2 days weekend
  • Office time, Annual Leave, Increment & other facilities will be applicable as per `Recruitment and Human Resource Management Policy` of Breaking the Silence and the facilities will be applicable also based on available resources in the project budget.
