Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc in ME) from a recognized institution.

Experience

    • At least 10 years

  • Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design, installation and maintenance in a synthetic fabric, textile or similar process-based manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience in designing and maintaining mechanical systems for process equipment, utilities, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in machine design, 3D modeling and mechanical drawing (AutoCAD/SolidWorks).
  • Excellent knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mechanical power transmission systems.
  • Ability to perform stress analysis, failure diagnosis, and process optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance planning and condition monitoring systems.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reading P&ID and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities & Context

Position Purpose

To lead, design, and oversee all mechanical design, development and maintenance activities at Jamuna Poly Silk Ltd., ensuring optimal performance and reliability of plant machinery and mechanical systems. The role focuses on mechanical design for process and utility equipment, modification of existing systems to improve efficiency and providing engineering solutions to support production in the synthetic fabric manufacturing process.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • • Plan, design and develop mechanical systems, equipment layouts and machine components for synthetic fabric production and utility operations.
  • • Oversee installation, testing, commissioning and modification of mechanical equipment such as extruders, winders, dryers, chillers, compressors, pumps and fabric processing machinery.
  • • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, mechanical calculations and technical specifications for new or modified equipment.
  • • Conduct feasibility studies for mechanical improvement projects, focusing on efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness.
  • • Monitor and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities of mechanical systems to ensure minimum downtime and maximum reliability.
  • • Analyze recurring mechanical problems, identify root causes and recommend corrective design or process improvements.
  • • Collaborate with production, electrical and utility teams to ensure mechanical systems support continuous and efficient plant operations.
  • • Ensure compliance with engineering design standards, factory safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • • Prepare and maintain mechanical design documentation, maintenance logs and machine history records.
  • • Manage, guide and train mechanical engineers and technicians to enhance technical skills and operational performance.
  • • Liaison with suppliers, contractors and design consultants for procurement, fabrication and modification of mechanical components and systems.
