- Masters
- At least Post Graduation in Social Sciences/ Development Studies/ Policy Study/ Communication/ Urban Planning/Public Administration/ related fields. Advanced Degree in Advocacy is a plus. Education qualifications may be relaxed for candidates with demonstrable experiences.

Additional Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in advocacy, policy analysis, and program implementation in urban development or housing sectors.
- Proven track record in influencing policy and managing partnerships with government and development actors.
- Experience in designing and supporting urban programs for informal settlements is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to rights and services.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Proven leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities & Context
Purpose:
The Specialist Advocacy and Urban will lead Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh’s advocacy initiatives while supporting the design and implementation of urban programs targeting informal settlements. Reporting to the Associate Director Programs, this role will drive policy influence and strategic engagement with government, civil society, and development partners to promote inclusive housing and human settlement solutions.
The position will also provide thematic expertise for urban programming, ensuring alignment with Habitat’s global strategy and Bangladesh’s urban housing priorities. By integrating advocacy and urban development, the Specialist will strengthen evidence-based policy dialogue, build and maintain networks, and support resource mobilization to scale impact for vulnerable urban communities.
