Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Fashion Technology, Business Administration, or any relevant discipline.
  • MBA will be considered an added advantage.

Experience

    • At least 12 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Buying House, Garments

Additional Requirements

  • Age At least 37 years
  • Age preferably between 37-50 years.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Merchandising/Marketing within a reputed woven garments manufacturing company.
  • At least 3 years in a senior leadership role such as AGM/GM/Head of Merchandising.
  • Excellent knowledge of woven garment manufacturing, merchandising operations, and supply chain management.
  • Strong expertise in costing, price negotiation, sourcing, and order management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple buyers and large-volume orders simultaneously.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Graphics Design).

Job Context

A reputed 100% export-oriented woven garments manufacturer is seeking a dynamic, result-oriented, and experienced professional to lead its Merchandising Department. The incumbent will be responsible for driving business growth, managing international buyers, overseeing the entire merchandising process from product development to shipment, and ensuring customer satisfaction while achieving organizational goals. The position requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, and extensive experience in handling renowned global apparel brands. The role encompasses merchandising, buyer management, costing, sourcing coordination, production follow-up, and business development activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the entire merchandising function for woven garment products.
  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies to achieve sales and business targets.
  • Identify and develop new buyers, markets, and business opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing buyers and buying houses.
  • Handle buyer communication, negotiations, order confirmation, and business correspondence.
  • Oversee product development, sampling, costing, consumption analysis, and order execution.
  • Ensure accurate preparation of costing sheets, BOM, TNA, and order profitability analysis.
  • Monitor all stages of production to ensure on-time shipment and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Planning, Commercial, Quality, Supply Chain, and Compliance departments.
  • Lead and mentor the merchandising team to enhance performance and productivity.
  • Ensure smooth execution of orders from development stage to final shipment.
  • Analyze market trends, buyer requirements, and competitor activities for business expansion.
  • Prepare business reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations for management.
  • Ensure compliance with buyer requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
