Education

  • JSC/JDC/8 pass
  • Minimum Class 8 Equivalent Education

Additional Requirements

Experience:

  • Experienced with operating excavators (7, 5, 3), rollers, dozers, payloaders, tractors, and UTVs.
  • Must have valid Heavy Equipment Driving License from the National Authority (Bangladesh Road Transport Authority).
  • Skilled in executing grading operations, slope management, material handling, and coordinating tracking and trucking logistics with excavators.
  • Able to understand construction plans and follow verbal instructions to complete tasks under a supervising engineer.
  • Operating heavy machinery and applying appropriate excavation methods for road construction in hilly terrain, canal digging, and slope maintenance.
  • Strong spatial awareness and precise distance and angle judgment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety procedures for operating heavy machinery on construction sites, with strict adherence to regulations to prevent accidents and ensure compliance.
  • Possess basic knowledge of machinery maintenance and the capability to carry out minor repairs. Responsible for performing routine tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and refueling of equipment.
  • Collaborate with fellow construction personnel, including foremen and equipment operators, to promote efficient project execution. Demonstrate strong communication skills and the capacity to follow directives accurately as part of a cohesive team.
  • Maintain a clean, organized worksite and machinery, and report hazards or safety concerns.
  • Ability to recognize and evaluate potential problems or hazards during excavation activities.
  • Selecting and installing suitable attachments for each task. This includes choosing, fitting, and removing components such as buckets, scoops, blades, and rock-breaking hammers based on operational requirements.
  • Can work extended hours and manage physical tasks.
  • Focused and detail-oriented to ensure safe, accurate work.
  • Good communication skill, organizational and reporting skills.

Languages:

  • Required: Fluency in Bangla & in Chittagonian with `Basic in English Languagae.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Location: Anywhere in Cox’s Bazar. Employment Status: Contractual

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct of regular safety inspections and perform periodic maintenance on IOM – SMSD machineries
  • Perform pre-start checks such as checking the machinery’s condition, including fluid levels, safety features, and attachments, before operation, routine maintenance, and minor repairs on the machinery and equipment maintenance.
  • Responsible for safety of the machinery and efficient use.
  • Inspect, monitor equipment performance and report issues.
  • Keep log, log hours, refuel and fuel log.
  • Report any incidents immediately to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a tracker of activities displaying the status of the assigned tasks
  • Provide weekly report to supervisor
  • The list and the quantitative volume of work done by the machines with hours.
  • Keeping record of the fuel consumed, hour machine ran.
  • Pictures of the ongoing activities, before and after of the activities.
  • Immediately report any incident to the supervisor and assign activity focal.
  • A log sheet for activity, machine hours and fuel consumption should be submitted on a monthly basis.
