Requirements

Education

B.Sc. in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering (NAME) / Marine Engineering from a Recognized/Government  university.

Experience

At least 10 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Shipping, Group of Companies

Additional Requirements

Only Male

Minimum 10 years of experience in dredging projects, including at least 5 years as a Site In-Charge or in a similar leadership role.

Experience working on government-funded projects such as BIWTA, Bangladesh NAVY, BWDB, CPA, Mongla Port, or similar organizations will be given preference.

Hands-on experience with cutter suction dredgers (CSD), booster stations, floating pipelines, and river dredging operations.

Experience in managing operations with Ellicott and/or IHC dredgers is highly preferred.

Experience in managing subcontractors of dredging works, local dredgers etc.

Leadership Quality and experience of work under pressure.

Excellent communication skills and convincing personality.

Highly motivated with good time management skills.

Project Management training, e-GP preferable

Good over computer skills: MS office, E-mail, Internet browsing, Report writing, Power point presentation etc.

Engineers without dredging experience need not apply.

Responsibilities & Context

Lead and manage all day-to-day dredging site operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project execution.

Search and manage dykes by communicating and coordinating with local people of dredging sites, Fix issues with dyke owners, Employer, Govt. agencies etc.

Plan, monitor, and control dredging production to achieve contractual targets.

Supervise dredging activities, dyke construction, disposal areas, reclamation works, and pipeline alignment.

Monitor dredging quantities through hydrographic survey data, production reports, and quantity calculations.

Coordinate with survey, operation, maintenance, HSE, and logistics teams for smooth site execution.

Ensure proper preventive and corrective maintenance of dredgers, booster pumps, generators, and auxiliary equipment.

Optimize fuel consumption, equipment utilization, and overall operational efficiency.

Monitor cutter performance, pump efficiency, slurry concentration, and production rates.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management and clients.

Maintain project documentation, site records, equipment logs, and production reports.

Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and quality standards.

Manage manpower, subcontractors, and local resources effectively.

Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.

Ensure all activities comply with HSE policies and environmental regulations.

Coordinate inspections and meetings with clients, consultants, BIWTA, Navy, BWDB, and other stakeholders.

Report daily and periodically to management about all related operation.

Any other duty assigned by management.
