Requirements

Education

Concentration in Accounting, Finance, Information System or related discipline.
Professional qualification in CIA, ACA, ACCA, CFA, or other relevant certifications is required.

Experience

At least 8 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Audit Firms /Tax Consultant, Banks, Financial Technology (Fintech) Startup, Group of Companies, Insurance, Multinational Companies, Telecommunication

Additional Requirements

Proficiency in IIA Standards, risks and controls frameworks (COSO etc.)
Understanding of mobile money platforms, payment systems, digital wallets, and telecom/banking integrations.
Familiarity with central bank guidelines, AML/CFT regulations, data privacy laws, and payment regulations.
The ability to write clear, concise, and grammatically correct English reports is crucial.
Critical thinking and problem solving ability
Skilled in communicating findings to senior management, board committees, and regulators.
Strong skills in managing multiple audits, timelines, and cross-functional engagements.

Responsibilities & Context

Contribute to the development and maintenance of risk-based audit plans, technology audit roadmaps, audit universe, risk registers, and risk assessment frameworks to ensure audit coverage remains aligned with the organization`s key risks, strategic priorities, and governance objectives.

Support the Internal Audit function in fulfilling its responsibilities in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter, IIA Standards, Code of Ethics, organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements while contributing to the continuous enhancement of audit effectiveness and value delivery.

Maintain professional independence, objectivity, and integrity in all audit activities; promptly disclose any actual or perceived impairment thereof and exercise sound professional judgment by making balanced assessments based on relevant facts, evidence, and circumstances.

Maintain a thorough understanding of audit methodologies, emerging risks, industry trends, regulatory developments, business strategies, processes, systems, and the broader operating environment relevant to the organization.

Plan, execute, and document audit engagements by defining objectives, scope, timelines, resource requirements, and risk considerations, ensuring alignment with approved methodologies, departmental standards, and organizational priorities.

Independently identify, analyze, evaluate, and document sufficient and appropriate audit evidence to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control processes.

Develop and maintain audit frameworks, assessment criteria, risk and control matrices (RCMs), and other engagement-level documentation required to support audit conclusions and recommendations.

Evaluate the potential impact of significant errors, fraud, misconduct, and regulatory non-compliance, and perform audit procedures with due professional care and professional skepticism.

Prepare and communicate accurate, objective, clear, concise, constructive, complete, and timely audit reports, while collaborating with auditees and management to develop practical corrective action plans and facilitate timely resolution of identified issues.

Ensure audit engagements adequately address key risks, identify control gaps and business process improvement opportunities, assess strategic and operational implications, and provide practical recommendations to strengthen governance, risk management, and internal controls.

Conduct periodic follow-up reviews, maintain issue-tracking mechanisms, monitor implementation of agreed action plans, and escalate significant unresolved issues or instances where management’s acceptance of risk may exceed the organization’s risk appetite.

Coordinate with management, process owners, and other assurance, compliance, risk, and monitoring functions to obtain business understanding, maximize audit coverage, leverage assurance activities, and minimize duplication of effort.

Review and evaluate the work of other assurance providers, where appropriate, to support effective utilization of audit resources and reliance on relevant assurance activities.

Build and maintain effective working relationships across the organization and serve as a trusted business partner in promoting effective controls, risk awareness, and continuous process improvement.

Provide support to supervisors and the Head of Internal Audit on functional, administrative, and other departmental matters as required.
