Requirements

Education

Postgraduate in Accounting/Finance from a recognized University/Institute.

Experience

2 to 5 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO

Additional Requirements

Age At most 35 years

At least 2-5 years of professional experience in a similar position.

Computer Skill, Accounting software like Tally, MS office package, internet, email, Communication Skill, Problem Solving Skill, Report Writing Skill, Leadership Skill, etc.

Hard working and ability to work under pressure·

Frequent field visits.

Culture and Gender Sensitivity and ability to respect and work well with people from different backgrounds and disciplines.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary: The Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) is a leading non-government organization dedicated to fostering a just and caring society since 1973. CCDB is currently seeking an Accounts Officer for its project, “The Strengthening Women’s Agency and Knowledge for Transformative Inclusion (SHAKTI)” Project.

The Accounts Officer will provide financial support to ensure the smooth execution of the project. This role involves managing transection, documentation, coordination financial activities, and assisting project teams to achieve project goals efficiently.

 

Responsibilities of the Position and Duties Performed:

Ensuring proper utilization of financial and material resources of the project, by maintaining appropriate and relevant records of all transactions in a systematic manner and ensure safe custody of these to ensure accountability.

Assisting Project financial planning and monitoring, financial transactions related to project implemented.

Preparing and submitting monthly and quarterly financial progress and with linkage with program activities being implemented.

Working with the team to prepare plans and allocate budgets and ensure that all financial transactions are completed by following the organizational rules and procedures.

Assisting to run internal and external audit to assess accountability and good governance of financial and material resources allocated and utilized.

Engaging actively in planning and financial resource allocating (budgeting) following the guidelines.

Assisting Project Coordinator in managing and implementing project activities with the allocated funds.

Ensuring all financial transactions and records are kept systematically at the office to ensure easy tracing, verification, and accountability.

Enhancing capacities of team members on financial management including accounting procedures.

Managing cash and bank transactions and ensuring staff and vendor payments are done on time.

Assist annual statutory audit and also internal audit of accounts;

Ensure monthly VAT/TAX compliance as per Govt. rules and deposit to Govt. treasure.

To follow organization’s finance policy for financial transaction and to comply donor, govt. and organization’s compliance issue.

Assists in budgets preparation and preparation of annual cash flow;

Maintain Fixed Assets Register & Store register;

Requires regular travel to project offices & monitor Project’s office

Assist to other Finance staff where needs;

Carry out any other duties assigned by the Management.
