Master of Social Science (MSS) in Sociology, Anthropology, Development Studies

Additional Requirements
Age 25 to 40 years
Preference will be given to experience in infrastructure development projects.
Highly self-motivated with demonstrated ability to be proactive.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
Good knowledge of national legislation and policies specifically relevant to land acquisition and Resettlement will be extra credentials for the post of consultant.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a complex, high pressured and diverse work environment with many deadlines both as a member of a team and autonomously.
Should have proven ability to manage large amount of data, can be analytical with attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
Responsibilities & Context
Conduct comprehensive literature and regulatory reviews, including national legal frameworks and international safeguard standards (e.g., World Bank ESF, IFC Performance Standards, ADB SPS).
Support preparation of social baseline assessments, including demographic, socio-economic, cultural, and vulnerability profiling of project-affected communities.
Facilitate and document stakeholder engagement activities, including Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), In-Depth Interviews (IDIs), and community consultations in line with stakeholder engagement plans.
Assist in implementation of census surveys, socio-economic surveys (SES), Inventory of Losses (IOL), and other field-based data collection activities.
Coordinate and supervise field data collection processes, ensuring data quality control, ethical compliance, and proper documentation; support data cleaning, management, and basic analysis.
Contribute to preparation of Social Impact Assessments (SIA), Resettlement Action Plans (RAP), Livelihood Restoration Plans (LRP), and other safeguard instruments.
Draft and compile technical reports, including field reports, consultation summaries, and sections of ESIA/ESDD deliverables.
Participate in client and stakeholder meetings, and support preparation of presentations, minutes of meetings, and follow-up actions.
Provide support in preparation of Expressions of Interest (EOIs), technical proposals, and project documentation for national and international assignments.
Liaise and coordinate with international and national consultants, experts, and partner organizations to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
Demonstrate willingness to undertake frequent field visits, including in remote and project-affected areas, as required.
