Requirements

Education

Master’s degree or international equivalent in Epidemiology, Public Health, Emergency Medicine, or a related field from a recognized institution.

Experience

At least 5 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO

Additional Requirements

At least 5 years of experience applying field epidemiology principles and outbreak investigation methods; FETP experience preferred.

At least 3–5 years of experience in TB program management, including drug-susceptible and drug-resistant TB diagnosis, treatment, and laboratory/data systems.

Experience working with infectious disease surveillance, outbreak response, and/or global health security programs in Bangladesh.

Experience with One Health or other multisectoral coordination mechanisms preferred.

Responsibilities & Context

Overview

MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership (MCGL), funded by the U.S. Government, is a global mechanism that saves lives and improves access to quality, integrated health services by distributing life-saving commodities, medicines, and vaccines, and providing critical health care services for pregnant mothers and children under five. The project provides safe childbirth for mothers and babies, vaccinates children, treats deadly illnesses and malnutrition, and control disease outbreaks.

Under the supervision of the Technical Director, the Outbreak and Emergency Response & TB Technical Advisor will provide technical support and guidance and oversee the implementation of the outbreak and emergency response activities as needs are identified in Bangladesh and across the region if required and provide expert advice on TB screening, prevention, diagnosis, care, and control strategies.

The advisor will engage with MCGL technical staff, and implementing partners, to ensure that the project’s outbreak and emergency response activities are aligned with approved workplans and that technical expertise informs project implementation. The advisor will implement and monitor technical strengthening initiatives, develop a training strategy, facilitate training and other capacity building activities, and create scientific or other technical materials when needed.

The advisor will support the preparation of deliverable reports to the donor highlighting achievements across outbreak emergency response activities, as well as support the drafting of publications, presentations and other external communications. The advisor will be required to collaborate with a diverse group of in-country organizations, including USG, host country government counterparts, and partner organizations, as part of a coordinated outbreak and emergency response structure.
