Education

The candidate must have a master’s degree in any discipline from an accredited university. Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD, and the duration of their doctoral studies will be considered as part of their work experience.

Slides preparation in presentation programs such as MS PowerPoint.
Statistical software such as STATA, SPSS, and R.
Reference managers such as Mendeley.
Data collection tools preparation.
Literature review.
Scholarly literature management such as literature search mechanism and citation style.
Report writing with advanced analysis.
Suitable triangulation of different data.
Technical writing, including but is not limited to, concept note development, proposal writing for funding, triangulation in writing, and concise science writing.
Research methodology, including, but is not limited to, sampling design, measurement and scaling technique, sampling fundamentals, methods of data collection, data processing.
Descriptive statistics such as measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, measures of asymmetry, measures of relationship, standard error, confidence limits.
Inferential statistics, including simple regression analysis, multiple correlation and regression, hypothesis testing, chi-square test, ANOVA, ANCOVA, multivariate analysis, tests for nominal variables, tests for one measurement variable, and tests for multiple measurement variables.

The selected individuals will be responsible for executing specific activities within the Research and Knowledge Management division.

Job Description

Reviewing the development and research issues comprehensively.
Staying abreast of what is currently going on in the area of development and research, using different means such as reading scholarly articles, books, and reports.
Preparing proposals and presenting to the clients.
Reviewing project documents, national survey reports, and policy documents.
Conducting studies of different types.
Designing experiments and developing research protocols.
Developing indicators and preparing both qualitative and quantitative data collection tools with guideline.
Providing training to the enumerators in data collection.
Providing research support on key policy areas, reading and summarizing existing research.
Analyzing data and writing reports.
Interpreting research findings, publishing and disseminating results as scholarly journal articles, policy briefs, and other means.
Drafting policy memos, talking points, charts, issue briefs, reports, op-eds, blog posts, and other briefing materials.
Coordinating research projects and providing scheduling, administrative, research, and writing support as needed.
Collaborating with colleagues in multidisciplinary research projects.
Being flexible to visit respective fields in and outside Dhaka as and when required for conducting any event related to the organization.
Attending and arranging events such as conferences and seminars.
