Requirements

Education

  • Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance with partly qualified CA (Knowledge/Certificate level)/ACCA.
  • Comprehensive practical understanding of the latest basic accounting & auditing standards and principles in light of IAS/BAS, IFRS/BFRS, ISA/BSA, GAAS, GAAP, the finance act, and the rules & regulations of the Government of Bangladesh including Tax & VAT policy.

Experience

  • 3 to 4 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    NGO

Additional Requirements

  • 3 to 4 years professional auditing experiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bangla.
  • Should have good understanding of MS Office applications/ Audit software.

The Internal Auditor is required to apply his/her practical and educational auditing knowledge and assist Internal Audit and Risk Management Unit (IARMU) in undertaking audits, investigations and risk assessments. Under direct supervision of the Coordinator, he/she will execute audits to evaluate the degree of compliance with the control systems and generate report on control & compliance weaknesses and submit to the management for reviewing. He/she will also assist IARMU in preparing audit plan through collecting data from different units and field offices for assessing the priority areas to be examined considering the degree of risks involved. The incumbent will also conduct regular administrative activities like preparing budget, filing & documentation, summarizing activity reports etc.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Responsibility # 1: Compliance Checking – Policies and Operational Control

  • Carry out audit, spot check & investigations as per the annual plan and as per management’s instruction to ensure that organization resources are safeguarded.
  • Ensure that CARE Bangladesh follows CARE policies and procedures and complies with rules & regulations set by the donors as well as the Government of Bangladesh.
  • Visit Units, Field Offices and Partner NGOs to ascertain uniformity and reliability of their systems and controls.
  • Provide management with information on the adequacy of internal control, policies and procedures
  • Analyze work process flows, recommend improvements and highlight redundancies within the system.
  • Perform physical checking to ensure that all mission generated policies and procedures are followed and in compliance.
  • Assist management in performing regular surprise and planned checks on all mission departments to ensure policy compliance.
  • Perform quarterly procurement spot check.
