Requirements

Education

MBBS from any reputed medical college with valid BMDC registration.

Additional Requirements

  • Experience in clinical practice or field research, preferably in a healthcare setting within departments such as Obstetrics and Gynecology, Neonatology, or Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) will get preference.
  • Experience in supervising field activities for data collectors will get preference.

Essential:

  • Technological skills for handling electronic data collection tools.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to different study hospitals in the Dhaka and Chattogram divisions as required.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with data collection software, such as Google Forms, KoboToolbox, etc
  • Hands-on experience in data collection and use of the electronic device.
  • Comfortable using tablets and other mobile devices for data collection.
  • Knowledge of the local language where the study will be conducted is a plus.

Responsibilities & Context

Projahnmo Research Foundation (PRF) in association with Johns Hopkins University, USA has a long and illustrious history of conducting research in Bangladesh. PRF’s research has contributed to the improvement of the health of Bangladeshi citizens and has supported the career development of numerous Bangladeshi public health professionals. PRF is seeking qualified and motivated applicants from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Hospital Coordinator for a multi-country, hospital-based study to assess the ongoing practice regarding intrapartum and early postnatal care provided to women and newborns in participating health facilities. The study will be implemented in ten countries, coordinated by the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Burnet Institute. In Bangladesh, the study will be implemented in selected hospitals of Dhaka and Chattogram divisions.

Duty Station: Following hospitals in Dhaka and Chattogram Divisions:

Dhaka division: Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Kishoreganj 250 Bed District Sadar Hospital

Chattogram division: Chittagong Medical College Hospital, Feni 250 Bed District Sadar Hospital, Red Crescent Maternity Hospital, Chattogram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital, Noakhali 250 Bed General Hospital, Chandpur 250 Bed General Hospital, Lakshmipur District Hospital

A. Data Collection and Management

  • Attend the designated study hospital daily as required.
  • Assist in conducting interviews with Health Care Providers and Hospital Administrators.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of collected data into electronic data collection tools.

B. Coordination and Communication

  • Oversee the data collection process during the data collection period, collaborating with the data collection teams to ensure timely completion of activities.
  • Act as the primary contact for the Research Assistants resolving any issues that arise and informing the unresolved issues to the Divisional Coordinator or Project Manager.
  • Conduct quality checks on the data collected by the supervised Research Assistants, addressing any flagged issues with the team, and communicating these issues to the Divisional Coordinator or Project Manager.
  • Attend meetings to provide progress updates and communicate with the Divisional Coordinator or Project Manager.
  • Report daily to the Divisional Coordinator or Project Manager regarding progress and any issues encountered during data collection.
  • Coordinate with hospital staff to ensure smooth data collection processes.
  • Facilitate communication between the Research Assistants and hospital departments to ensure adherence to study protocols.
  • Organize weekly meetings with the Research Assistants to facilitate problem-solving and share lessons learned.
  • Provide comprehensive training to the Research Assistants to ensure proficiency in data collection procedures, software usage, and adherence to protocols.

C. Compliance and Ethical Standards

  • Ensure all data collection activities comply with ethical standards and study protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of participant information.
  • Obtain informed consent from study participants as required.

D. Skills:
