Requirements

Education

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting
  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting.

Experience

  • 3 to 4 years

Additional Requirements

  • Proven experience in the NGO sector is required. Must know the finance and accounts procedures related to NGOs.
  • Minimum 3.5-4.5 years of experience is required, so fresher are discouraged from applying.

Additional Job Skills Needed:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expert in TAX & Vat related procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Responsibilities & Context

Overview: Amal Foundation, a leading non-profit organization, focuses on education, emergency response, health, and women’s empowerment. Since 2014, we have worked on numerous projects, including supporting displaced communities on remote riverine islands in the North, facilitating a community health center, building schools, supporting Rohingya refugees with food, clothing, and shelter, and creating a women’s skills and training center. We are now looking for a highly motivated Finance and Accounts Executive to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibility:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring workflow efficiency and policy adherence.
  • Supervise accounts payable/receivable, ensuring timely transactions.
  • Coordinate with auditors for annual audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management and board.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls for asset safeguarding and financial accuracy.
  • Lead and guide the operations team, fostering accountability and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with program managers to align financial and operational activities with goals.
  • Manage external stakeholder relationships to support financial and operational objectives.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare regular financial reports for management and board of directors.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with program managers to ensure financial and operational activities align with programmatic goals and objectives.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including vendors, partners, and donors, to support operational and financial objectives.
  • Responsible for maintaining all project-related papers and aligning with NGO Bureau and banks.
  • Stay focused on developments in financial accounting standards and regulations and recommend updates to organizational policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management or the board of directors.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and other forums related to operations and finance.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, integrity, and accountability within the organization’s operations and financial management processes.
  • Perform a monthly and yearly budget.
  • Monthly and yearly budget of each project.
  • Develop and implement expense cost control policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
  • Analyze office and project-specific expenses to identify areas for cost optimization
  • Perform any other emergency-specific related duties as required by the Director.
