Responsibilities & Context

Context:

As the MEP Manager for our prestigious five-star hotel project, you will oversee all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to ensure the successful completion of the project.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop MEP project plans and schedules in coordination with the project timeline.
  • Coordinate with design consultants, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth integration of MEP systems.
  • Review MEP design documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and hotel standards.
  • Provide input during the design phase to optimize MEP systems for energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to source MEP materials, equipment, and systems according to project specifications and budget constraints.
  • Manage the delivery, storage, and inventory of MEP materials on-site to ensure timely availability for installation
  • Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to monitor progress, resolve issues, and address any deviations from plans.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, Low voltage, FPS & FDS & Water management systems etc.
  • Ensure that MEP installations meet design specifications, performance requirements, and operational standards.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to verify the quality of MEP workmanship and materials throughout the construction phase.
  • Conduct inspections, tests, and audits to identify and rectify deficiencies or non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Monitor MEP project expenditures, track costs against budget allocations, and identify opportunities for cost-savings or efficiency improvements.
  • Work closely with the project management team to forecast MEP-related expenses and manage financial resources effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of MEP-related documentation, including drawings, specifications, contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Generate regular reports on MEP project status, milestones achieved, issues encountered, and resolutions implemented.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to MEP team members, subcontractors, and construction personnel to enhance skills, knowledge, and performance.
  • Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the MEP department and across project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the handover of MEP systems to the hotel’s facilities management team upon completion of construction.
