  • Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity is a nutrition sensitive project funded by USAID and contributes to improvements in nutrition outcomes of household members, with an emphasis on children under the age of five, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescents (girls and boys) in the country’s twenty-three south and southeast districts. Three results underwrite this goal: 1) consumption of nutritious, diverse, safe, and balanced diets by households; 2) social and economic empowerment of women and social empowerment of adolescents; and 3) adoption of improved water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices. We integrate a strong focus on gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) across all three of these result areas. We apply a combination of Market Systems Development (MSD) and Social Behavior Change (SBC) approaches to achieve our goals.
  • As the Food and Nutrition Systems Policy Lead, you will lead advocating for evidence-based nutrition policies and practices in the agriculture, food, and water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH) sectors to catalyze sustainable improvements in overall nutrition and WASH status of the project’s beneficiaries. You will monitor legislative and regulatory developments, conduct sector analysis, and identify gaps in food and nutrition related policies and regulations relevant to the scope of the project. You will also liaise with the public sector and other relevant stakeholders, advocate for support, and lead efforts to develop strategic interventions, such as policy advocacy for mainstreaming nutrition sensitive programming through Government of Bangladesh, food fortification, food market infrastructure improvements, changes to labeling requirements for packaged foods to emphasize nutritional content, and consumer education etc.
