Responsibilities & Context

Effective Project operations / implementation and ensuring Community mobilization-50%

  • Responsible for all climate adaptive livelihoods activities and mobilization at assigned location/s under the supervision of the Project Manager/ Supervisor.
  • Organize the project inception meeting with different-level stakeholders.
  • Develop the work plan and carrying out all activities accordingly.
  • Ensure the selection of beneficiaries according to criteria defined in the proposal and validate it by respective authorities.
  • Selection of beneficiaries, community needs assessment, and skill capacity analysis of the beneficiary.
  • Ensure inclusion of gender, persons with disabilities, elderly and other vulnerable communities according to the IR Principle and guidelines during participant selection and other steps of implementation.
  • Formation of community-based women groups & guiding them for using their potentiality in a development manner
  • Facilitate women group led savings and financial management
  • Ensure group development training of leadership, training and capacity building on Community based women groups management, leadership, and group-based savings and lending.
  • Organize the training session in different categories of IGA skill development according to the beneficiary choices and interest.
  • Provide technical support and coordination for asset/cash transfer, and procurement of different project materials following IRB policy.
  • Support develops awareness material and ensuring awareness sessions on health, WASH, nutrition and disaster risk reduction according to the plan.
  • Carry out group base and community base awareness sessions on different social, rights and entitlement issues.
  • Arrange different types of meetings with different stakeholders, service providers, and duty-bearers.
  • Build a network with different duty bearers and rights holders.
  • Organize Advocacy and awareness sessions.
  • Facilitate community consultation meetings, CBO meetings, awareness sessions, and community-based women group meetings
  • Establishment of APEX body function, facilitation of community development planning process, and community-led initiatives.
  • Track the progress of project activities
  • Prepare progress reports (quantitative and qualitative) regular basis.
  • Support for ensuring Complaints & Feedback Mechanism (CFM), Child Protection, Safeguarding & Gender Sensitivity issues with project activities.

Monitoring of community-led self-help groups-15%

  • Monitor group progress and facilitate proper functioning.
  • Provide proper guidance to update group accounts, register books, maintain the records;
  • Conduct group assessment and support to deal with gaps.
  • Conduct IGA performance monitoring/IGA database & SSN assessment of the rightsholders
  • Conduct regular group meetings for getting and sharing updates on progress and facilitate learnings and experiences sharing within group and prepare next plan for actions.

Capacity development training & Supervision-15%

  • Capacity development training facilitation for all the project participants and group leaders
  • Training follow-up, hands-on training at HH level, and training refreshers
  • Supportive supervision of subordinate staff and women group leaders to carry out their routine work effectively.

Reporting, appropriate archiving and visibility-10%

  • Ensure proper documentation and record keeping of project events/ activities.
  • Ensure the compliance of all manuals and organizational policies for the project team with proper practice and record.
  • Prepare event reports of different project activities
  • Prepare the bill & check the bill vouchers.
  • Support supervisor to prepare monthly, quarterly, interim and final narrative reports as per proposal and project need.
  • Assist supervisor to prepare monthly progress reports.
  • Prepare, approve, organize and preserve all project-related documents and ensure sending to the Economic Empowerment and Governance programme department within due time.
  • Prepare or collect media & communication materials (Photographs, Case studies, etc.) required to ensure project visibility.
  • Assist in archiving the project documents (hard copy and electronic copy) as per IR guidelines.

Communication, coordination and advocacy with different stakeholders-5%

  • Conduct effective networking and coordination with Union and the upazila office.
  • Networking with Government officials to link climate adaptive activities and SSN support
  • Establish and maintain an effective coordination mechanism with key stakeholders of the project.
  • Represent Islamic Relief Bangladesh in coordination meetings at Union and City levels.
  • Assist in the phase-out meeting and lesson-learned workshop for further organizational development.
  • Collect successful project completion letters form relevant authorities

Others-5%

  • Participate & involve with seasonal program (Ramadan, Qurbani, Winterization etc.) activities.
  • Take initiatives for effective monitoring and ensure security of project staffs and participants during intervention.
  • Facilitate donor/external visit and ensure that recommendation of visitors is addressed.
  • Willing and able to travel frequently for extended periods and to remote areas of the projects.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

  • Any other task assigned by the project/programme/IRB management
