Experience Requirements:
- At least 2 years progressively responsible work experience in community mobilization with a bias in CMAM, MIYCN and C-MAMI (NGO/INGO).
- Technical knowledge on Community management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) programming
- Have good knowledge on Rohingya refugee programs.
- Demonstrated ability to think and manage strategically, plan and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory role to lead a large field team.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal as well as Bangla.
- Proficient knowledge of standard computer software is desirable.
Age Limit:
- Maximum 35 Years (on 29th June 2024), but for highly potential candidate (s) age can be flexible.
Skills: ESSENTIAL
- Ability and willingness to travel to camps and stay at the field if required.
- Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to sites.
- Excellent spoken and written Local and English languages.
- Good facilitation and mobilization skill.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- For extra ordinary/promising candidates, experience can be flexible.
PREFERRED
- Experience in closely working with camp level is advantageous.
- Previous experience working in CMAM is an asset.
- Knowledge of local dialects (Cox’s Bazar region/ Rohingya dialect is an asset.)
Responsibilities & Context
Society for Health Extension and Development (SHED) a National NGO working in Cox’s Bazar district is inviting applications from suitable candidates for its Programme title ‘Integrated Nutrition Interventions for Malnutrition Treatment and Prevention in FDMN’S Camps & Host communities in Cox’s Bazar’. The Programme is jointly funded by UNICEF & UNWFP. SHED is looking for qualified candidates for the post of:

Job Context:
- Responsible for leading community-based nutrition activities including screening and referral of wasting cases, follow-up home visits, closely working with the Lead mother in rolling out MtMSG activity, coordination and liaison at camp level, supportive supervision and reporting and conflict management at camp level. This position will also support in Integrated Nutrition Facility that includes Outpatient Therapeutic Programme (OTP), Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme (TSFP) Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme (BSFP), IYCF, ECCD and CMAMI and other nutrition-sensitive activities as and when needed and deputize Nutrition Supervisor.
Report to: Deputy Programme Manager (Nutritionist)
Supervise to: CNS, Nurse, IYCF Counselor, GMP, Registrar, SK, CDP, ECCD and MHPSS Counsellor, AAP/CFM Assistant, Volunteer, Cleaner & SG who will be assigned by your site.
Job purpose: The Nutrition Supervisor- Nutritionist will be responsible to ensure the smooth and proper running of the program through providing systematic and regular supportive supervision, monitoring and follow up of all activities at the field level through center staff and field staff & Volunteers. S/He is expected to manage staff & volunteers at the nutrition site and ensure that programme components are implemented to a high level of quality. S/He will deputize Deputy Program Manager as assigned by Program Manager when required.
Liaises with: The Nutrition Supervisor- Nutritionist will work closely with the Program/Deputy Programme Manager, Nutrition Expert, and broader nutrition team at field level. S/He will supervise all the site-based nutrition staff including the Register, IYCF Counsellor, ECCD Promoter, Storekeeper, Nurse as well as Community Nutrition Supervisor. When requested, s/he will also liaise with external partners, including camp coordination bodies and NGOs, in relation to the nutrition program.
Job Location: At anywhere in Ukhiya Upazila (Camp area).
Job Descriptions / Responsibilities:
- Under the guidance of Deputy Program Manager and Program Manager (Nutritionist) the Nutrition Supervisor will be responsible for-
- Objective1: Ensure effective management of all components of program and timely delivery of activities at INF and outreach.
- Support the set-up of nutrition site in the camps including seeking relevant approvals from the CICs and the site management agency (if required).
- To lead the implementation of the INI activities and ensure delivery with maximum efficiency and professionalism.
- Supervise component staffs for the implementation of the INI program to ensure goals and objectives of the program are being met.
- Lead the outreach team to ensure implementation of outreach activities at camp level and ensure integration between outreach and center activities.
- Develop plan of work for OTP, BSFP, TSFP, CMAMI, IYCF and outreach activities according to the expected progress of the project.
- Ensure the implementation of activities in coordination with the finance and Logistics departments.
- Objective2: Ensure quality of program components at center and outreach level.
- Ensure that each member of the nutrition team fully understands the outcomes that are expected from them; supporting team members to work to the highest quality of standard possible.
- Ensuring adherence to and respectful to current protocols
- Document internal and external monitoring findings, prepare action plan and share with DPM and PM and execute that plan as per instruction.
- Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards in the nutrition site. • Identify training needs within the nutrition team and support the project coordinator in conducting training
- Objective3: Ensure effective management of supply, and inventory at center level
- Evaluate and update project needs (financing, logistics) at center level.
- Checking that all the supplies are listed in the register.
- Participate in the follow-up of supplies consumption and orders.
- Ensuring that stock levels are sufficient for the functioning CMAM facilities and Blanket Supplementary feeding program (weekly, biweekly or monthly)
- Make monthly physical inventory of all nutrition supplies.
- Raising relevant requests for supplies and stock well prior in time to prevent exhaustion of stocks and supplies for interventions.
- Objective4: Ensure monitoring and timely reporting from supervisor and all components in place.
- Ensure sound monitoring of program activities and monitoring team at field level and share with line manager(s)
- Collaborate with MEAL team to ensure timely compiling statistical data and draft appropriate reports on activities including producing weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports and end of program evaluation report.
- Ensure documentations of lessons learnt and best practices within the implementation of the INI program.
- Maintain databases and creating high quality reports, presentations, and other documents as required.
- Objective5: Collaborate within team, Network, and coordinate with the relevant sectors.
- In liaison with the Deputy Program Manager, establish network with the other actors in the area.
- Develop productive working relationships with CiC and other officials, non-Governmental institutions, and other project partners.
- Refer to the Programme Manager before making any verbal or written commitment.
- Establishing linkage with community leaders and representatives
- Represent SHED camps in relevant camp level coordination forums.
- Enable a friendly collaborative working culture within the team and conduct regular meetings with program staffs to discuss and document lessons learned.
- Objective6: Ensure staff supportive supervision and development, performance appraisal, update any vacancy and ensure vacancy fill up as required.
- Identify capacity gaps among component staffs, prepare on the job capacity building and supportive supervision plan and execute plan regularly.
- Monitor and review performance and, in particular, holding staff accountable for meeting quality standards of work, delivering any improvement goals which have been identified, giving corrective feedback where required and taking decisive action when poor performance is identified.
- Effectively manage leave of staffs and volunteers to meet HR compliance and run program efficiently and with quality.
- Identify and update vacancy at center and outreach level to HR and line manager and fill the gap for positions (as required)
- Objective7: Ensure organizational policies and donor compliances are in place.
- Orient team members on the Complaint Feedback Mechanism (CFM) and functional CFM at camp level following SoP
- Be aware of, understand and comply with all of SHED’s policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management, PSEA etc.)
Note: Besides the above-mentioned job activities, you must do any other job assign by your supervisor & the organization as and when required.
Compensation & Other Benefits
Salary Range:
- Tk. 85,000 (Eighty-Five Thousand Taka only)
- Duration: Till 31st December-2024 with a high possibility of extension.
