BRAC is actively seeking a Deputy Manager, Financial Monitoring for Bangladesh America Maitree Activity (BAMA), a substantial project with a budget of USD 48 million. This 5-year program aims to enhance the capacity of local organizations aligned with USAID’s strategic objectives in Bangladesh. Through a careful selection process, chosen local organizations will receive funding to implement programs, with a strong emphasis on strengthening their institutional capabilities.
JOB PURPOSE
The Deputy Manager, Financial Monitoring will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity, transparency, and success of the Maitree project, ultimately contributing to the financial management of the project and related capacity building of local subawardees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the financial aspects of the subawards, ensuring compliance with USAID regulations and guidelines, as well as local laws and regulations in Bangladesh. This includes monitoring and reviewing budgets, expenses, and preparing and presenting financial reports to project stakeholders, and partner organizations. These reports should provide a clear overview of the awards’ financial status, highlighting any areas of concern or improvement.
- Work with subawardee organizations in improving their financial management capacity. This may include providing training sessions, workshops, or one-on-one mentoring to enhance their understanding of financial procedures, budgeting, and reporting requirements.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks. Assess potential risks related to financial management and assist in strategy development to minimize these risks, ensuring the project’s financial sustainability and integrity.
- Communicate and coordinate with project teams, partner organizations, and relevant stakeholders are essential. Collaborate closely with other staff members to integrate financial monitoring activities into overall project management effectively.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of financial monitoring processes and procedures is essential. Responsible for identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance the project’s financial management practices.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
