Responsibilities & Context

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile IT Support Engineer to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work in both network and application support, providing comprehensive technical assistance to our users. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure while also troubleshooting software applications and ensuring optimal user experience. Additionally, you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding our systems through your familiarity with security software and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Network SupportĀ Install, configure, and maintain network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers)
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, diagnose root causes, and implement solutions
  • Monitor network performance metrics (bandwidth utilization, latency, packet loss)
  • Provide Level 1 to 3 technical support for network-related issues to internal and external users
  • Maintain familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and Linux environments
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest network technologies and trends

Application Support

  • Provide technical support to internal users for a variety of software applications
  • Troubleshoot application issues, diagnose root causes, and implement solutions
  • Document application issues, resolutions, and workarounds in a knowledge base
  • Provide technical support for internal and external users on office applications (O365, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot common O365 issues (login, file sharing, email configuration)
  • Troubleshoot common hardware issues (peripherals, 3rd party devices)
  • Manage user accounts and permissions within O365, Google Workspace, and other platforms
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest features and updates for O365, Google Workspace, and other supported applications
  • Effectively communicate troubleshooting steps via phone calls, chat or email

Security

  • Demonstrate familiarity with security software and practices
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining security protocols to safeguard network and application environments
  • Identify and report potential security vulnerabilities
