Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in engineering project management preferably within the NGO sector.
• Strong technical knowledge in civil engineering, construction management and infrastructure development.
• Proven experience in conducting site assessments, preparing project plans and managing project budgets.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project and other engineering software.
• Fluency in English and Bangla both written and spoken.

In Bangladesh, we have been actively involved in various development projects aimed at improving the lives of the most vulnerable communities.
Job Summary: The Programme Associate (Engineering) will play a crucial role in the planning, implementation and monitoring of engineering projects (building shelters, mosques, establishing tubewells etc.) within Muslim Hands International Bangladesh. This position will support the Programme Coordinator/ Senior Programme Officers in ensuring that all engineering projects are executed efficiently, within budget and to the highest standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise, coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring that all engineering aspects of the projects align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Project Planning and Design:
- o Assist in the development and design of engineering projects including infrastructure development, water and sanitation and community facilities ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- o Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project requirements and constraints.
- o Prepare detailed project plans including timelines, budgets and resource allocation.
- 2. Implementation and Supervision:
- o Oversee the day-to-day implementation of engineering projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- o Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and local authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
- o Monitor project progress, identify potential issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- 3. Technical Support and Capacity Building:
- o Provide technical assistance and support to project teams, stakeholders, vendors and partners.
- o Conduct training sessions, workshops, meetings and events related to engineering projects to build the capacity of local staff and community members in engineering practices and maintenance.
- o Ensure that all engineering activities adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
- 4. Monitoring and Evaluation:
- o Assist to MEAL for preparing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and sustainability of engineering projects.
- o Collect and analyze activity data to measure project outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- o Prepare regular project progress reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- o Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or issues and propose solutions as needed.
- 5. Coordination and Communication:
- o Collaborate with cross-functional teams including other departments within Muslim Hands International to ensure integrated project delivery.
- o Maintain effective communication with donors, partners and beneficiaries to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Working Conditions:
- • The position is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with frequent travel (up to 70% of total time) to project sites in various locations.
- • Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
