Responsibilities & Context

• Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples’ centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 upazilas under 54 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.

• As partnership with Plan International Bangladesh, ESDO is implementing the Integrated Sponsorship Project (ISP) in Jaldhaka Upazila of Nilphamari district. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly/quarterly and yearly action plans and proper implementation of the activities as per standard;

• Arrange and conduct UH&FWC management committee meeting, Community Group and Community Support Group and UP Health & Family Planning Committee Meeting;

• Arrange and conduct capacity-building training for UH&FWC management committee meetings, Community Groups, Community Support Groups and secondary school teachers on MNCH and SRHR issues;

• Formation/reformation of adolescent groups and conduct capacity-building training on comprehensive sexuality education.

• Conduct regular visits to the safe delivery unit, supervise CSBA and CHV and provide technical and management support through coaching & mentoring;

• Support to establish an adolescent corner in the Community Clinic and Union Health & Family Welfare Centre;

• Conduct counselling sessions with adolescent girls and boys and reproductive women

• Conduct community mobilization activities like; Assisting community groups and the UH&FWC management committee with fund mobilization, increasing patient flow program monitoring

• Data collection for pregnant mothers, reproductive women, and adolescents and consolidation of data and submission to line supervisor and uses when required.

• Prepare monthly individual activity plans, and report and submit them to the concerned supervisor.

• Preparing material requisition and ensuring timely supplies in the intervention

• Ensure management of all documents and material of the centre of UH&FWC and CC

• Having an attitude to work under pressure.

• Must comply with the organization and donor’s safeguarding. Child protection and PSHEA policy for children and program participants. He/she must ensure a clear understanding of safeguarding policy to the project staff, key stakeholders and associates, plan risk assessment & mitigation before starting any children and program participant-engaged activities, and ensure reporting & responding of CP & safeguarding incident cases if happened.

• Consider gender equality in organizing every program or activity in the community

• Safeguarding knowledge and applying in all aspects of the programme as necessary and reporting mechanism, assessment and risk management and ensuring in the programme cycle.

• Identify project risk and mitigation plan

• And should have the mindset to perform any additional duties assigned by the organization
