Requirements

Education

  • Diploma in Midwifery from an accredited academic institution; and recognized & registered by Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC)

Additional Requirements

Experience Requirement:

  • Completed midwifery internship.
  • Previous experience of working with an international organization is an advantage. Knowledge and experience with working in the humanitarian settings will be added as advantage.
  • Effectively applies knowledge on clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, administering medication, phlebotomy, maintenance etc.
  • Works effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries

Responsibilities & Context

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist Medical Doctor in history taking, examination, treatment, medicine management and dispensing, immunization, laboratory specimen collection, performing medical procedures including patient referral and follow up as required for both in and out – patients.
  • Identifies patient care requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual reproductive health patients with special attention to the women and men, adolescent girls & boys to ensure that their reproductive health needs are met equally
  • Conduct safe delivery, essential Newborn Care and provide focused antenatal care, identifying high-risk pregnancies and providing postnatal care to women, their babies, their partners and families.
  • Coordinate with the CHWs to ensure regular and effective ANC/PNC/Neonatal/GBV follow up and defaulter tracing.
  • Support women, girls and their families through pregnancy, labor and in the time immediately after birth.
  • Participate/conduct regular continuous medical education and skills/capacity development activities.
  • Ensure timely notification of neonatal, maternal death, stillbirth and support the review and verbal autopsy processes.
  • Provide accurate SRH health education, information, emotional support and reassurance to women and their partners at facility, community and safe spaces.
  • Provide family planning including family planning counselling to patients
  • With support from the medical officer, provide menstrual regulation, post abortion care, STI management and counselling, GBV prevention management and follow up.
  • Ensure proper infection prevention procedures and following of IPC SOPs
  • Explain reproductive health related procedures to the patients/ beneficiaries as well as establishing a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Assist the patients in understanding their condition, medication with dose intervals and other doctor’s recommendation as well as teaching patient, friends, and family to understand self-care skills; answering questions.
  • Assist in SRH outreach and other health programmes including safe spaces, coordinate with Health NGO partner and volunteers and support them in community health preventive activities.
  • Maintain daily checklist of all SRH equipment, commodities and medicines to ensure that they are fully stocked, organized, listed, and within the expiration period.
  • Ensure the accurate operation of equipment following manual troubleshooting malfunctions; ensure the maintenance are done in a timely manner. Maintain the medical inventory.
  • Regularly maintain, file and update the record of patient care, data collection and other information related to patient. Assist medical doctor in preparing the daily/weekly and monthly reports.
  • Participate in regular patient escorts and provide emergency obstetric and newborn care as the need arises.
  • Provide the MISP support according to target-wise achievement
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Compensation & Other Benefits

  • Monthly gross salary for this position is BDT 49,504.08.
