Requirements

Education

  • Master’s degree preferably in Social Sciences/Social Work and Development Studies or relevant subject.
  • Or diploma in civil engineering with an exceptional experienced professional. For excellent academic attainment and or fast professional track record, this condition may be relaxed.

Experience

  • At least 5 years

Additional Requirements

  • Age at least 30 years
  • Minimum 05 years of demonstrated work experience in the relevant field especially in emergency response and rehabilitation interventions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to produce outputs within tight deadlines in a very busy environment.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, communications and writing skills both in Bangla & in English.
  • High level of pro-activeness and creativity, self-motivated and positive attitude to work in team approach.
  • Ability to provide capacity building support to partner NGOs and supervise the project interventions.
  • Experience and Knowledge on WASH, local WASH governance and climate adaptation is desired.
  • Experience or good understanding of program monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience and knowledge on climate change, disaster management and disaster risk reduction are crucial
  • Aptitude for innovation, to identify and explore new methods of working
  • Demonstrate respect for gender, diversity, organizational cultural and promote safeguarding and uphold organizational values
  • Demonstrate interest in and awareness of issues related to development, social justice and climate change
  • Ready to undertake extensive field visits at project areas of Satkhira and Khulna.
  • Have experience in emergency response;
  • Knowledge on IT (MS word, Excel, Power Point etc.)

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context

Mukti Foundation, an NGO, is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Project Coordinator for “Emergency Response for Vulnerable People in Cyclone Remal- Affected Bagerhat and Satkhira Districts, Bangladesh” project which has been implementing in the Southern parts (Tala Upazila, Satkhira) of Bangladesh and funded by Malteser International and ADH, Germany. The duration of the project is from 1st July to 31st December, 2024. The requirements for the positions are given below:

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the project team, this role will take the responsibility and contribute to (but not necessarily limited to):
  • Coordinate with project staffs, donor and Govt. representative, community stakeholders, LGIs representative, local administration and others.
  • Coordinate and provide technical, logistical, budgetary, and basic translation support to project implementation
  • Lead project planning and implementation in collaboration with donors and organization management and liaison with BMZ-PT project management.
  • Assist to procure the project necessary requirements to ensure quality service and availability
  • Coordinate day-to-day implementation of ongoing project-interventions with the targeted beneficiaries, construction vendor and staff members to ensure quality rehabilitation works.
  • Coordinate with the management of Mukti Foundation and updating the quality of works, disseminate information and provide technology innovations for sustainable development and resilience.
  • Coordination functions include technical oversight, ensuring timely deliverables of implementing project staff against work-plans; coordinating with MI and ADH operations and staff; and monitoring and reporting implementation progress and results;
  • Provide technical inputs and feedback to emergency response concept notes and program documents.
  • Represent Malteser International (MI) and ADH in policy meetings in the areas of emergency response and thus adaptation and mitigation of climate change;

Program Development, Implementation and Coordination:

  • Work closely with the project staffs, BMZ-PT management and Director in designing, planning, assisting technical support and monitoring of Remal affected emergency project.
  • Provide technical support to improve the socio-economic conditions of marginalized and high-risk coastal communities, including persons with disabilities, affected by Cyclone Remal by restoring safe living environments and assisting BMZ-PT project for livelihood initiatives.
  • Taking initiatives for restoration and enhancement of livelihood initiatives to improve the economic conditions of those affected by Cyclone Remal.
  • Develop and implement a work plan for ensuring rehabilitation support and other technical support requirements of the projects in close coordination with the Director, and other relevant MI-BMZ-PT staff.
  • Work closely with the Director to ensure concepts and practical approaches to work are protective of child and women rights including rights to participation, empowerment and protection from hazardous work and exploitation.
  • Document content of internal/external technical meetings and disseminate to relevant staffs.

Capacity Building:

  • Liaise with staff to identify technical support needs of projects staff, jointly agree on specific and time bound support needs in relevant technical areas.
  • Provide technical supportive supervision and monitoring of projects on a regular basis making sure that activities are implemented keeping quality as per the minimum standards and timeliness.
  • Provide technical orientation to ensure that the project staff have the necessary skills to technically implement the project.
  • Work closely with the project staff in the planning and facilitation of meetings for introducing program approaches and practices, shared learnings and periodic review meetings aiming at building capacity and harmonization.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Documentation:

  • Technical support the community mobilizers (CM), the front-line staff to design the appropriate monitoring tools for project, to include development of data collection formats, data collection plans and the consolidation data and agreed targets.
  • Technically contribute to total duration of the project and thus quarterly and monthly detailed implementation plans for the assigned project within the Mukti Foundation (MF) portfolio.
  • Technically contribute to monitoring and evaluation plans for the project, to include outcome, output and input indicators. Ensure that the M&E plan for the project helps improve quality of reporting, clearly articulates the impact of projects, and identifies issues for advocacy. Where appropriate, this should feed into the general Mukti Foundation MEAL processes.
  • Support the project staff in producing high quality project reports that meet the requirements of MF and Donors.
  • Ensure that lessons learned are properly documented, effectively disseminated and, where appropriate, incorporated into wider initiatives.
