Responsibilities & Context

Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is implenting the Educate the Most Disadvantaged Children (EMDC) Project in Bancharampur and Nasirnagar Upazila under Brahmanbaria district supported by UNICEF. The present project tenure is up to December 2026.

The proposed intervention is a five-year project to address the most disadvantaged out-of-school children in Brahmanbaria. The programme aims to enable disadvantaged children aged 7 to 14 to gain foundational skills composed of basic literacy, numeracy, socio-emotional and life skills. There will be two types of interventions; Catch-up programme for the new dropouts due to COVID who will return to formal education within 6 to 10 months and Multi-grade Multi-level Non-Formal Primary Education for regular dropout children. Universalization of girls in a particular location and inclusion of children with disabilities need to be prioritized throughout the project period. The duration of the project is 60 months and the job is contractual for the project period with a 3 months probation period.

The position will be recruited for implementing the project based at the Project locations at Bancharampur or Nasirnagar Upazila in Brahmanbaria district with substantial field activities.

The Program Organizer will directly support the Teachers in conducting classroom activities.

  • S/he will bear his/her responsibilities under direct supervision and guidelines of Upazila Coordinator of EMDC project, FIVDB.

Description of Responsibilities

  • Identify challenges and issues in project fields, and assess needs in accordance with overall program strategy.
  • Conduct child survey Establish learning centers and helps upazila coordinator to recruit teachers.
  • Ensure students’ enrollment, attendance and reduce drop-outs. Visit learning centers, monitor project activities and provide continuous support directly to the teacher.
  • Identify teaching gaps of the teachers and demonstrate model sessions. Support teachers in developing lesson plans and ongoing assessments.
  • Assist in teachers trainings. Provide trainings to CMC and other community groups.
  • Conduct monthly CMC and other community group meetings. Ensure capacity building of Learning Center teachers, CMC members, Parents, and other key stakeholders through training and other initiatives. Prepare and submit the Training Completion Report to the respective upazila field coordinator.
  • Coordinate with team members for the successful implementation of project activities. Prepare monthly action plan and achievement individually, and Upazila level plan.
  • Prepare quantities and qualitative progress reports.
  • Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
  • Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment. Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
  • Other tasks as per requirements of the project.
