Requirements

Education

  • Essential: Bachelor DegreeDesirable finance, business or administration related degree or diploma.

Additional Requirements

  • Essential previous working experience of at least 1 (one) year in relevant jobs.
  • Desirable experience in MSF or other NGOs. Essential, English and Bangla languageDesirable Chittagonian dialect/Rohingha language.
  • Essential strong skills in MS office particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet

Responsibilities & Context

  • Controlling and monitoring cash payments from the cashbox and coding and recording cash transactions in the daily cashbook or accounting system.
  • Performing daily cash counts and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Following-up on cash advances and ensuring they are duly settled.
  • Carrying out transfer requests between cash and safe box.
  • Checking the validity of invoices, approval signatories, and correctness of account codes.
  • Performing currency exchange operations when required.
  • Assisting with the preparation of salary payments as required.
  • Performing monthly reconciliations before closing the monthly accounts, managing bank reconciliations and monthly bank statements if applicable.
  • Prepare the monthly bookkeeping to coordination by checking the completion, accuracy and organization of documents.
  • Manage the monthly bookkeeping archive.Monitor cash flow of petty cash boxes to determine cash flow needs. Prepare, control and monitor cheque payments and bank transfers, and record transactions in the accounting system, ensuring all documentation and authorizations required to support entries are provided.
  • Other Finance duties: Assist the Finance Department with payments and transfers, ensuring proper attestation and completion of documents as required.
  • Assist during the Audit with the preparation, retrieval and storage of documents for the purpose of audit and statutory compliance.
  • Calculate relevant taxes (e.g., VAT and AIT) on payments made by cheque/bank and record payables in an accurate manner in the accounting system.
  • Prepare challans on a monthly basis for payment to the government treasury.
  • Verify all necessary documents related to financial transactions to ensure completeness accuracy.
  • Make photocopies/scans of finance related documents.
  • Deliver financial documents to and collect the same from banks, tax authorities, external parties and ensuring proper attestation as required.
  • Obtain authorization signatures on financial documents.
  • Assist with written and verbal translation when required.
  • Performs requested duties during additional workload or absence of Finance Assistant.Performs other related duties as required.

Compensation & Other Benefits

Salary according to level 04 (four) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 47500 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
