  • Demonstrated experience in data collection; statistical analysis; and reporting; including experience with computer-based statistical packages and databases (MS SQ Server etc.) (preferred)
  • Experience with Feed the Future projects or other development or food security/ nutrition (i.e. USAID funded) related projects (Preferred)
  • Previous experience working in the CHT areas and/or knowledge of the CHT region (Desired)
  • Maintains Data visualization (PowerBI) and devices. (Desired)
  • Experience to drive Motorcycle and have valid motorcycle driving license. (Preferred)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently. (Preferred)
  • Spoken and/or understand CHT local languages. (Desired)

Responsibilities & Context

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The MIS Officer, for the USAID funded Bandarban Agriculture and Nutrition Initiative (BANI) improved food security and nutrition activity will be based at Bandarban and report MIS Specialist and Communications and work closely with the Bandarban-based MEL Specialist and Program team. The MIS Specialist will provide support for online and offline database user management, assist with online administration control management, supervise implementing partner data entry in a timely manner, assist implementing partners in maintaining data consistency, and conduct data analysis for BANI activities. S/he will develop, maintain, and support Wave-based and/or mobile-based data management tools. S/he will also undertake extensive field travel to ensure the developed system is consistently updated/aligned with project activities in target areas. As a member of the BANI Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) team, the MIS Specialist will be responsible for providing guidance related to ensuring the quality implementation of BANI’s comprehensive and integrated MIS, as well as the proper documentation of data and information at all project levels (virtually).

  • Time required in the job to reach effective performance: Probation period – 3 months

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in selecting or developing and maintaining the project’s technology platform.
  • Develop, maintain, and update BANI’s comprehensive and integrated MIS in alignment with all program objectives and requirements from donors and management staff.
  • Collaborate closely with the MEL team, IPs, and other relevant partners to ensure consistency in data collection, compilation, archiving, analysis, and reporting of various primary and secondary data from multiple sources.
  • Coordinate with the MEL team to train staff in using the MIS system, both at the office and field levels. Provide capacity-building and coaching to field staff, including field facilitators and community health facilitators, in data management, including record keeping and data entry, while tracking their learning progress.
  • Disseminate data for analysis and reporting on the outputs and outcomes of BANI-Performance Data Table indicators and prepare quarterly and annual reports (including counts of unique, overlapping, and age-disaggregated participants, as well as data extraction and calculations for gender, youth, MCHN, PLW, adolescent girl sessions, GMP children and IGA activities).
  • Coordinate the implementation of MIS plans to collect and report required disaggregated data/information as per the requirements of donors and management staff. Analyze data to prepare different periodic program reports related to monitoring detailed action plan (DAP) and detailed implementation plan (DIP).
  • Coordinate with MEL and Program teams to establish iSTREAM program activities, event openings, staff allocation, and catchment management for data entry.
  • Perform daily data analysis and tabulation to monitor the progress of data entry tasks as instructed by the project MEL team.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports for sessions, events, and catchment/users from iSTREAM.
  • Collaborate closely with the software development vendor (StreamTech) development team for dashboard development, reporting, and quality checks as outlined in the development/modification contract.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the MIS Specialist.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY:
  • The Monitoring Officer is accountable to MIS Specialist, BANI for overall performance and also responsible for coordinating with the MEL Specialist, Bandarban.
