Requirements

Education

  • Graduation in any discipline preferably in Accounting or Finance or any business-related subject. Qualified/ partly qualified chartered accountants from a reputed chartered accountancy firm/ ACCA/CMA will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • At least 3 years

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in accounts preparation & financial reporting, MRA regulations, Tax regulations and other regulatory compliance related to microfinance.
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, along with accounting software.
  • Profound knowledge in Financial Analysis & Reporting, Data Analysis, and Auditing Skills.
  • Expertise in accounting standards, MRA regulation, tax compliance, MIS reporting, and account preparation and reporting.
  • Strong innovative, analytical, and improvisational abilities, along with a proactive and self-starting attitude, contribute significantly to job performance.

JOB PURPOSE

  • This role will be responsible for maintaining efficiency, transparency, and regulatory compliance across financial functions in the finance and accounts department. The position will be responsible for preparing microfinance project accounts, monthly consolidation of all microfinance projects, management reporting, and annual microfinance account preparation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzing and preparing monthly accounts for all MF projects (Dabi, Agri Business, SCDP, Progoti, BCUP, NCDP, New Poor, Safe Save, Potato, and Boosting Agriculture). Preparing and posting all the HO vouchers for these projects.
  • Preparing and submitting consolidated microfinance accounts and management reports to the management every month.
  • Preparing annual financial statements for project accounts, reviewing and posting year-end vouchers. Reviewing and maintaining provisions for MF accounts monthly.
  • Periodically visit branch offices to understand accounting treatments in practice in the field and their account-related challenges.
  • Preparing and submitting required documents to MRA, ad-hoc reports for management, and periodic reports for external auditors and other stakeholders as required.
  • Analyzing MF branch-level transactions and identifying any issues to communicate with the field for resolution.
  • Supporting the Microfinance program with financial reviews of their new initiatives from time to time.
  • Understanding accounting procedures practiced at field offices and ensuring a comprehensive understanding of accounting practices between branch and head offices.
  • Maintaining coordination with field offices/departments for the clarification of monthly variances.
  • Communicating with the microfinance programme for budget preparation and regularly partnering with accounts.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
