  • Masters in any equivalent discipline will be preferable.

Additional Requirements

  • Age at least 27 years
  • Proven Experience in shelter and site development projects.
  • At least three years of experience in shelter and site development projects with a total experience of four years after Graduation in the NGO/Development Sector.
  • Experience in Team Management, Conflict Resolution, Budgeting, communication, researching, writing, monitoring, and evaluating, auditing, project management, and project implementation.
  • Proficient knowledge of standard computer software (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and AutoCAD)
  • Good communication and networking skills both in Bangla & English.
  • Fluency in Local language will get preferences.

Responsibilities & Context

The key purpose of this position is to carry out the duties and responsibilities of ‘Camp Manager – Shelter’ for the ‘UNHCR – Shelter project’ to ensure effective implementation of Shelter interventions maintaining the highest possible level of standards and quality by ensuring necessary support to the project and utilizing resources for implementation. To monitor the overall work progress of repairing and maintaining temporary shelters as well as monitoring the site development activities to maintain proper coordination between shelter experts and the team.

  • Being an implementation partner of UNHCR, the organization is looking for a qualified individual to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Improved Shelter Services in the respective working area.
  • Lead shelter team (Field), Plan & implementing the shelter, site development and other activities in the field level as per instruction of Deputy Project Manager.
  • Effective Coordination with all relevant stakeholders and shelter actors (UN agencies, Inter Sector Coordination Group-ISCG, UNHCR Shelter Team, Government agencies, INGOs, local and international partners) for positioning NGO Forum for public Health as key leading agency for the shelter response.
  • Propose solutions or improvements for better performance of the activities through finding and analyzing the gap and need of the camp related to shelter & site development activity.
  • Review all daily activity-related data to mitigate any discrepancy in the data management.
  • Motivating and Capacity building of the staff & volunteers by preparing the team for forecasted risk in an empathetic manner.
  • Reviewing daily, weekly, monthly and other periodic activity progress reports.
  • Preparing the work plan considering the target of the project period and monitoring the workflow in the field by regular visits through ensuring the quality of work.
  • Validate the relevance of the intervention area, the selection of beneficiaries, and calculate the impact in the community.
  • Reviewing the drawing, design and BoQ of the different schemes of shelter and site development.
  • Prepare monitoring tools according to the project indicators.
  • Assist, train, and guide the Staff & volunteers for the smooth functioning of the project.
  • Defining the approach with local stakeholders and other organizations.
  • Remaining updated about the needs of the community regarding shelter and site development by Keeping close collaboration with the community.
  • Set Priority of work and instruct Project Officer- Technical accordingly.
  • Forecast workload by closely working with the camp unit to respond quickly.
  • Closely monitoring distribution and inventory management of the Distribution Point.
  • Any other task assigned by the management based on the gap and requirement of the project.
