Job Tontext:
Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK) Bangladesh is seeking a qualified and committed person with financial professional background for the position of Assistant General Manager-Finance to oversee and strengthen the financial management system of its Social Enterprises in Gaibandha District. Social Enterprises are one of the major commercial ventures of GUK operated to achieve following 3 key objectives.
They are;
- Promoting Brand Value by offering best quality products/ services at affordable costs/price;
- Creating employment opportunities for youths;
- Generating revenues to support welfare activities of GUK.
Currently GUK operating a total 11 enterprises of varied size, nature and capacities ranging from foods & Beverage to medical services, printing press, technical training center to formal educations.
Each enterprise has its own management setups to look after day to day operation and market promotion. Now GUK is looking for a dynamic leader in the position of Assistant General Manager-Finance who will be responsible for the overall financial management of all enterprises to provide technical guidance in financial management of enterprises aiming to enhance efficiencies in financial planning and management which ultimately contribute to make enterprises financially profitable and socially acceptable branded products and services.
In consultation with the Director and AGM, Enterprises, the CBO will determine the best roadmap for execution of the Strategic Financial Planning for the enterprises. Being the chief of finance management of social enterprises the CBO will help managements of each individual enterprise in preparing financial planning in support of the annual Business Plan and translate into time-bound operational plan for delivering measurable, cost-effective outcomes that make the vision a reality. He/she will also best exercise his/her skills, expertise, sensitivity and personal confidence to tap into the power that each staff member possess and the team retain the innovative spark that drives GUK towards its long-term vision with its Social Enterprises.
Job responsibilities;
- Oversee the financial accounting, management, monitoring and reporting systems;
- Support individual enterprise to manage budgets and prepare forecasting reports;
- Analyze financial reports of enterprises and present findings to the management;
- Supervise financial reporting and budgeting systems of enterprises;
- Review company financial reports and seek ways to reduce costs;
- Analyze market trends to maximize profits and find expansion opportunities;
- Identify risks, propose solutions and manage stakeholder expectations;
- Research and report on business performance influences;
- Ensure efficient management of all accounting operation including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, P/L Accounting, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition;
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting;
- Manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings;
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
- Ensure efficient management of the purchase and sales ledger of each enterprise;
- Responsibility for accounts receivable and payable ledgers;
- Monitor monthly accruals, prepayments and accounting entries;
- Manage audit processes of current systems;
- Monitor financial details to ensure legal requirements are met;
- Develop external relationships with Auditors, Solicitors, Bankers and Statutory Organizations;
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting practices.
