Responsibilities & Context

The Efforts for Rural Advancement (ERA) is working with Health, Nutrition and Family Welfare (HNFW), Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Response (DRRER), Quality Education and Governance (QEG) and Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock (ALF), since 1997 in Bangladesh. The organization is seeking a self-motivated and qualified candidate for “Mutual Learning for Improving Health and Nutrition Scenario” project funded by Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation (NOREC).

Major responsibility: The Medical Professional (Doctor) has to stay in Nepal for 12 months. The major responsibility will be to work in a satellite and static clinic that is situated in the local community. This position will provide his/her service for promotion of maternal and child health, nutrition and reproductive health. In addition, this position will be responsible for program designing, implementing, monitoring and reporting. Having the mind setup for research work.

Job Station: In the beginning, the participant will stay for 15-20 days with home organization (ERA) for preparation and about one and half months after returning to Bangladesh. There is a preparatory training on 22 – 27 September 2024 in Kathmandu. The participants have to attend in the training. After the training, the participants will work in Mutual learning for Improving Health and Nutrition Scenario project with the host organization.

Host Organization: The host organization Rural Institution for Community Development (RICOD) lies in Godawari Municipality-11, Chapagaon, Lalitpur, Nepal and others are in the south-west rural part of Lalitpur district. Roads connecting to the rural part are mostly rough and dusty. The staff members are expected to make frequent site visits and the sites also do not have well managed moderate hotels and/or lodges. Therefore, the staff members are expected to adjust with local settings. The host organization will manage accommodation for participants in Nepal.

Duration: 14 months (1 September 2024 to 31 October 2025)

Compensation & Other Benefits

  • Salary and benefits: Monthly gross salary BDT. 110,635 (Approx.), Provident fund, Annual leaves, Sick leaves and Accidental & International Medical Insurance.
