Requirements

Education

  • Masters or equivalent degree preferably in Statistics/ Anthropology/ Development Economics/ Urban and Rural Planning.

Additional Requirements

  • Experience: At least 02-04 years’ demonstrated experience in M&E with reputed organisations preferably with INGOs, donor agencies or international organisations is required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including study methodology, M&E techniques, and tools.
  • Ability to apply computer software such as SPSS, MS Excel, MS Access, GIS, and STATA, as well as proficiency with monitoring devices.
  • Strong capability in data analysis and the ability to write high-quality analytical reports.
  • Skill and experience in presenting study findings effectively.
  • Proficiency in maintaining Management Information Systems (MIS), mobile phone-based monitoring systems, database networks, and electronic data archiving.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in working collaboratively with partners and donors.
  • Proactive approach, positive attitude, and commitment to professional integrity.

Workstation: WaterAid Bangladesh Country Office, Dhaka

Working Hours: 37.5

Contract Tenure: Fixed Term

Travel: Willingness to travel on a regular basis to remote areas of Bangladesh is required.

Ways of Working

  • Includes but not limited, work closely with members of Communications team, and other colleagues from Programmes, Policy, Advocacy on a day-to-day basis. Also maintain working relationship with colleagues from other departments/teams within WaterAid, Donor, PNGO, Consultant/consultancy firm.

Job Purpose

  • The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects executed by partner NGOs, in alignment with WaterAid’s standards and donor requirements. The role involves field monitoring, data management, capacity building, and coordination of evaluations and studies to maintain high-quality project delivery and reporting. The incumbent will utilize and manage multiple digital systems for data collection, analysis, and reporting to support project planning, performance evaluation, and donor communications. Additionally, the role aims to enhance the data management capabilities of partner organisations and internal teams, ensuring data integrity and consistency across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field monitoring and quality verification of project implementation by partner NGOs as required.
  • Compile monitoring findings after visits and prepare detailed reports for respective project/programme focal points and line managers.
  • Utilize WaterAid UK’s web-based system, WaterAid Programme System (WAPS), for global PMER activities across all WaterAid countries.
  • Utilize internally designed mobile phone-based online project management information system/database (mPMIS) on the mWater platform for project planning, monitoring, and periodic evaluation.
  • Build capacity among partner M&E staff and field teams on WAB-mPMIS and routine M&E activities.
  • Support WAB programme teams in using WAB-mPMIS, WAPS, and other tools (e.g., mWater) for creating surveys and conducting evaluations.
  • Review and ensure data integrity and consistency across multiple systems maintained by programme teams and partner NGOs.
  • Support capacity building of partner NGOs in monitoring and reporting functions, including data input, validation, and reporting as per WaterAid’s and donor requirements.
  • Initiate and coordinate studies and evaluations conducted by external consultants related to project baseline/endline assessments.
  • Conduct small-scale mixed-method studies internally, develop mobile phone-based data collection tools on the mWater platform, analyse data, and prepare reports.
  • Provide data support to programme and fundraising teams using the mWater web-based system (WAB-mPMIS) for grant-specific donor reporting and WaterAid’s six-monthly and annual PMER cycles.
  • Assist in six-monthly and annual data reporting by reviewing inputs from project centres.
  • Manage specific databases related to Water Quality Tests, inventory of water and sanitation hardware, and other relevant systems.
  • Undertake any other tasks related to the field of engagement, experience, and expertise as assigned by the organisation and supervisor.
