Skill and Competencies:

  • A minimum of Graduation in any subject or Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years of practical work experience in the field of Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Resilience House, Rural Infrastructure and Nature Conservation works
  • At least 3 years’ experience on Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction program and Natural Resources Management fields in climate vulnerable contexts.
  • Familiar with community risk assessment (CRA/CVCA) and local level action planning with local government institutions.
  • Experienced in community and stakeholder mobilization as well as work closely with government departments and private sectors.
  • Proven ability to build capacity of partners/ stakeholders through formal trainings and informal job shadowing and mentoring
  • Capable of working geographically challenged areas
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadline(s)
  • Witting capacity and speaking skill both in Bangla and English.
  • Ability to monitor work of project-hired contractors.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skill.
  • Must have cross-cultural sensitivity, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Computer literacy and preparing progress report.

Responsibilities & Context

Responsible for:

  • The Community Mobilization Officer (CMO) will work directly with the communities and local stakeholders at the coastal region.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the community bases activities, implement locally led adaptation plan, nature based solutions, climate resilience homes and infrastructure, green energy promotional activities at community level.
  • Timely completed awareness raising activities on climate change, ecosystem based adaptation, ecosystem restoration, resilient house and sustainable infrastructure practices in coastal areas.
  • Organize and conduct capacity-building initiatives for community members, local organizations, local government authorities and relevant stakeholders.
  • Regular follow up and engagement of entrepreneurs and volunteers for promoting climate resilient infrastructure, green technologies and nature based solutions.
  • H/she will work closely with Upazila Project Coordinator and Project Engineers to ensure smooth implementation of project activities at local level.
  • Mobilize labor, mason and vendors, ensuring a smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of daily activities, progress of labor mobilization, material utilization, master-roll preparation and ensure accurate and timely payments.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Officer to verify and process labor payments, ensuring compliance with financial procedures.
  • Collaborate with local government authorities, NGOs, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to promote coordination, cooperation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Assist in monitoring project activities, gather data, and contribute to project reporting.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and update reporting on project implementation.
