Responsibilities & Context

The Assistant General Manager (AGM), Human Resources, is responsible for leading the HR function and ensuring that HR strategies align with business goals. This role involves overseeing various HR activities, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with labor laws. The AGM, HR, will act as a strategic partner to senior management and a mentor to the HR team.

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.
  • Provide guidance on HR matters to senior management and departmental heads.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive organizational culture that promotes employee engagement and retention.

Recruitment and Talent Management:

  • Oversee the recruitment process to attract, select, and retain high-quality talent.
  • Implement effective onboarding programs to ensure new hires are integrated smoothly into the company.
  • Develop and manage succession planning and talent management initiatives.

Employee Relations and Performance Management:

  • Address employee grievances and resolve conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  • Oversee the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
  • Implement employee engagement programs to enhance workplace satisfaction.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as necessary.

Compliance and Policy Management:

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to reflect current legislation and best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to HR policies and legal requirements.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Design competitive compensation and benefits packages to attract and retain employees.
  • Conduct salary surveys and benchmarking to ensure the company’s compensation structure remains competitive.

HR Metrics and Reporting:

  • Develop and analyze HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on HR-related metrics, such as turnover rates, recruitment effectiveness, and employee engagement levels.

HR Team Leadership:

  • Mentor and develop the HR team, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing HR team environment.
