Reporting:

  • Support in preparation and submission of the Reporting activities of the project to DAM and IsDB (Monthly, and Quarterly)
  • Update and Provide Figures and Activities updates on weekly and Monthly basis to the Project Director.
  • Provide/update on any project related information and shared with Joint Director DAM Education Sector.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressively verifiable experience in the field of Education, Child Protection, social mobilization and project management.

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a National NGO with Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC and UNESCO. It works for social and spiritual development of the human community. Founded with the motto of ‘Divine and Humanitarian Service’, over last 65 years DAM has been serving the human community for improved living conditions enhancing people’s capacities to maximally utilize their inner potentials. DAM’s current diversified works encompass multi-dimensional field programs and self-governing institutions in education, health and economies development sectors in Bangladesh.

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is implementing a 5 years non-formal extended primary education project titled “FaelKhair Integrated Rehabilitation Program for Upliftment of Ultra Poor Slum Dwellers” in Mohammadpur and Mirpur in Dhaka City and Saidpur in Nilphamari District with the financial support from IsDB.

Job Summary:

The project manager manages and supports all activities pertaining to the project management and implementation, including planning, management, monitoring, and supervision of all project related activities.

The incumbent is supervised by Project Director who defines general work objectives and provides necessary advice and guidance. The incumbent may supervise some staff in the office and field. The incumbent maintains regular contact on a working level on routine issues with DAM management, IsdB project coordinator, other stakeholders and government partners in the area to facilitate the operations. The incumbent directly supervises KAAP UUP project staff involved in the project, and reports to the Project Director. The duty of the incumbent is to support and monitor the management of project implementation activities and within the geographical area covered by the office while exercising efficiency in the use of available resources for the project.

Position Purpose To lead the KAAP -UUP Education Project in order to achieve Project goal and impacts as per the approved project Design and donor compliance.

Grade 11

The Project Manager will undertake the following responsibilities under the direct supervision of Project Director: –

Initial Contract up to June 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design and provide direct supervision of the implementation of project activities to ensure that deadlines are met and activities produce quality outputs
  • Provide leadership, coordination and guidance on all matters pertaining to the smooth implementation of the Project,
  • In coordination and consultation with DAM management project Strategy are regularly updated and implemented;
  • Managing the program field teams and ensuring that they are wholly involved in program planning, direction, and implementation thereof
  • Manage, monitor and report on all activities being carried out by the project implementing staff.
  • Develops engagement strategy to encompass areas affected by Project activities.
  • Provide technical inputs and guidance and ensure that technical quality and standards are considered during project implementation:
  • Collect technical information and analyses associated opportunities and risks; as well as identify and collaborate with relevant technical authorities and partners;
  • Develop team capacity at both the individual and group level by organizing/ facilitating trainings internally or through specialist agencies / individuals.
  • Responsible for the management of project staff and for ensuring that all field teams are comprehensively briefed on the objective, expected output and overall implementation strategy of any given activity. The Project Manager shall ensure that Project staff are given training and complete all the necessary documentation in line with DAM Education Sector requirements.
  • Project Manager shall ensure that he/she regularly meets with HR, Finance, and Logistics Departments to ensure that support mechanisms such as the Budget Follow Up, Procurement plan, and recruitment are completed on time and reflect operational realities/needs.
  • Set work plans and manage project’s activities to achieve the project goals and draft Monthly and Quarterly reports to be submitted to the Project Director and collaborate closely with relevant Stakeholders as part of monitoring and evaluation activities. He/she will be expected to provide reports covering activity implementation, achievement of objectives, successes / challenges, beneficiary feedback, etc.
  • Develop and maintain positive interactions with local government officials (to facilitate approvals, document processing, and understanding of proposed and pending changes in regulations/other operating strategies).
  • The Project Manager is expected to facilitate trainings or project coordination meetings by leading discussions. Moreover, he/she shall be in a position to present DAM and programmatic strategies and activities in Inside & outside meetings or for Local Authorities.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities and require a group of people to work together to ensure the desired result is achieved, the most efficient resources are used and the different interests involved are satisfied.
  • Represents DAM at government functions/social events, arranges meetings and events with government as required.
  • Prepares/implements meeting plans, meeting documentation, identification of key issues and NGOs follow-up and participates in internal meetings, staff meeting, roundtable discussions, and consultations as appropriate
  • Provide Performance evaluation of the staff under His / Her Line Management
  • Assist in writing proposals for any new projects
  • Undertake any other task assigned to him by the direct supervisor.
