Responsibilities & Context

Prepare Marketing Material (leaflet, Flyer, ride, power point etc) for blocks:

  • Advantages of blocks Vs bricks
  • Cost Saving using Blocks
  • Block – how to use (laying, how to install AC, conduits, how to cut, control joints, lintel for windows, door, how to make skirting flash)
  • Prepare presentation on: Environment friendly products, Concord’s contribution to present government agencies.
  • Plan a marketing promotion campaign: Paper ads, YouTube videos, site visit and demonstration etc.
  • Regular seminars: Introduce in BUET course, Give scholarship to student/ professor to do research as blocks.
  • Environmentally friendly issue: Make a presentation, Video, Power Point, Flyer about environmental damage of clay brick industry and how blocks are better
  • Arrange to make presentation to PMO and Other government bodies like PWD, etc (who may use them).
  • Study the road map used by India, China, Vietnam. Present a paper or similar road map for Bangladesh.
  • Do seminars with BELA, HBRI, Concord, Ministry in every 2 months.
  • What steps Govt. has taken: Use in 10% of their construction which are their projects?
  • When they will be ready for tender? Ensure Concord gets it.
  • Do lots of Seminars, Newspaper, Articles, Interviews of Concord Management TV show on blocks, (pay reporters to report on it), etc. every month. Government has to be made aware that concord is doing a lot for the environment & we want to implement PM’s intention.
  • Compare: Compare our blocks to competitors. whose quality is better & why?
  • Pricing: Why other’s price is less (less weight)?
  • What should we do Mix- Design & cost reduction?
  • Study what else we can do to increase quality like use admixtures, better curing, handling, storing, breakage during transport (active production to delivery procedure).
  • Customer complaints – what causes it and how to reduce?
  • Start a Mason Training course (who does mason training?) give certificate.
  • What other environmentally friendly products (AAC, etc) are feasible in Bangladesh?
  • Is compressive strength being checked properly.
  • Visit foreign block factory (India & Thailand) & bring their expert have to advise an operational efficiency.
  • Operation – study how we can reduce cost.
  • HBRI – what work they are doing that affects us? How we can be involved?
  • BUET – how to get affiliation – scholarship, Master’s Research, etc.
