  • Essential degree in Psychology (Clinical or Counselling psychology). Essential 2 years experience minimum as a Psychologist
  • Desirable previous experience with MSF or other NGO’s in developing countries.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Providing psychosocial support (Individual & group) to staffs according to MSF principles, standards and procedures in order to improve the staffs mental health wellbeing & arranging necessary trainings for them.
  • Carrying out an evaluation of the mental health needs of staff and establishing a diagnosis and a plan of treatment.
  • Informing the staff and his/her relatives about the possible consequences of the illness and the drug treatment to follow and referring patients to other health professionals whenever necessary, in order to provide the most appropriate treatment and improve the condition Individual & group counseling to the staff & be the channel of communication between staff, Project management team with Staff Health Unit (SHU) Supervisor
  • Implementing the Sexual & Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol, identifying possible victims of SGBV and Referring them to the medical team & SGBV Department so that they receive the necessary treatment.
  • Providing psychological support to staff with chronic diseases & long-term sickness referred by SHU MD‘s
  • Providing psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, group) to staffs according to MSF protocols in order to improve their mental health conditions
  • Assisting and training staff members whenever necessary in order to enhance the scope of MH activities.
  • Working in close collaboration with MH Counselors in order to ensure appropriate terminology and behaviorduring sessions
  • Collecting statistical and monitoring data about mental health activities & reporting to SHU Supervisor
  • Informing the supervisor and the medical team about any issues or problems that may arise related to the treatment in order to provide the best possible solution from a medical perspective
  • Ensuring that all information is kept confidential within SHU.
  • Provide psychosocial support via online, phone or face to face to all the staffs of MSF OCA (LRS& CBTM-Camp based team member)Arranging sessions on stress management, PMR, PFA, Team building activity, Self care, MH sensitization, personal issues, workplace well being, Economic management, improving relationships, conflict management, trauma, grief, loss, deprssion, stress, anxiety, commuication skills of staffs (locally recruited & CBTM) Organize training on De-escalation & vicarious trauma, laughter therapy, Breathing relaxation,
  • sensitization Active collaboration with project management team during MCP, redundancy program & providing PFA Support IMS colleagues with PMR (Progressive muscular relaxation), individual sessions case by case Close collaboration with SHU MD’s & SHU Supervisor to discuss issues as disability and mental health sick leave, ability to resume work after long-term sick leave etc.
  • Active participation in redundancy program & providing care to staffs in collabration with HRD Meeting with staffs to assess his mental state & provide best support with multidirectional approach (medical & psychological) in collaboration with SHU MD’s Refer staffs to third party consultant (psychiatrist) under supervision of SHU Supervsior.
  • Organizing awareness session on MH for supervisors & staffs while working on breaking the taboo on MH related issues in the projects.
  • Ensure frequent project visits as per roster in close collaboration with other staff psychologist. Work in close collaborration with RB Implementer & flagging serious issues to SHU Supervisor.
  • Participate in briefing for newly recruited staffs (LRS & CBTM).
  • Work with SHU Supervisor to create an SOP on MH services.
  • Combined session with SHU MD’s to promote the interlinking relationship between physical health & mental health & vice versa
  • Carry out regular field visits to promote the activities and conduct group sessions with the staffs aimed at increasing awareness around mental health issues, specifically stress and burnout Forwarding feedbacks & writing monthly reporting form to SHU Supervisor and Deputy MedCo, about the psychosocial support provided to the staffs.
  • Engage in regular clinical supervision supported by SHU Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with the mental health Activity manager as well as the hospital director and medical. team leaders at project level to meet the mental health needs of staff & subsequent planning with SHU Supervisor, Identify and flag high risk cases who require psychiatric interventions to the SHU Supervisor.
  • Engage in additional work assignment given by SHU Supervisor

Compensation & Other Benefits

This position is a Permanent contract according to level-Seven (Level-7) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 78000.00 Gross/Month). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service
