Requirements

Education

  • Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies and relevant subjects.
  • Knowledge of the local context in the Rohingya community.
  • Sensitivity to cultural and diversity issues.
  • At least 10 years’ work experience in a relevant role.
  • Experience of supervising field staff required.

Experience

Technical Competencies:

  • Maintain open and professional relations with all the project team members, promoting a strong & respectful team spirit, ensuring effective communication, and opportunities for debriefing.
  • Consistently and dedicatedly monitor/assess the safety and security of the team, promptly reporting concerns or incidents to Mukti Cox’s Bazar management and liaising with other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure quality implementation and contribution to MCB.
  • Strong facilitation skills, proven experience in conducting trainings/capacity building on education related issues in English and Bengali.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the FDMN response, humanitarian programs, and collaboration with other humanitarian actors.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively, including the ability to advocate for and simplify complex education concepts.
  • Excellent English and Bangla oral and written communication skills.
  • Can effectively translate to and from English to Bangla to Chittagong/Rohingya language.
  • Experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL).
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office package.

Responsibilities & Context

Project Coordinator will lead the high-quality project implementation, overall planning, coordination, collaboration and integration with others partner, shared learning, and other activities with a focus on expanding capacity in gender, Child protection and safeguarding. He will be responsible for overall project management, reporting and linkages with UNICEF, stakeholders, and partner organizations. He will be responsible for developing an effective team at the field level to ensure adequate support to the field level education activities in a coordinated way.

Project Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop detailed project plans, outlining objectives, timelines and resource requirements for the education project in the Rohingya response.
  • Oversee the implementation of project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.

    Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including program partner, donor, Education sector, government authorities, NGOs and community leaders.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination to ensure project success.

    Team Management:

  • Supervise and lead project staff, providing guidance, support and mentorship.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment to achieve project objectives.
  • Disseminate new information, lessons learnt, government’s new policies and programs etc. to the appropriate forums when needed.

    Budget Oversight:

  • Manage project budgets, monitoring expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Provide regular updates on budget utilization and contribute to financial reporting.

    Human Resource Management·

  • Ensure supervision, conduct and oversee annual staff performance appraisal for all project staff.
  • Assess needs and provide staff with skill development opportunities for ensuring maximum contribution toward achieving program goal and objectives.
  •  Identify and effectively resolve staff issues to ensure positive impact on program/beneficiaries.

    Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to track project progress and impact.
  • Collect and analyse data to inform decision-making and improve project effectiveness.

    Reporting:

  • Prepare regular progress reports for internal stakeholders, project donors and relevant authorities.
  • Ensure timely submission of accurate and comprehensive reports.

    Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks to project success and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Proactively address challenges and obstacles that may impact project implementation.

    Community Engagement:

  • Engage with the local community to gather insights, address concerns and ensure cultural sensitivity in project activities.
  • Foster a sense of ownership and participation among community members.

    Coordination with Technical Experts:

  • Collaborate with technical experts.
  • Ensure seamless integration of technical components into the overall project framework.

    Advocacy and Representation:

  • Represent the project in meetings, workshops and coordination forums.
  • Advocate for the project’s objectives and promote awareness of the educational initiatives in the Rohingya response.

    Policy Compliance & Safeguarding:

  • Advocate for the integration & upholding Core humanitarian Standard (CHS) among team & stakeholders.
  • Raise awareness among team & stakeholders about the importance of policy compliance of organization, government & donor and safeguarding in the context of the Rohingya response.
  • Safeguarding and PSEA: To meet the program’s objectives for safeguarding and PSEA implementation, make sure team members are protected from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. serve as a major resource for help, direction, and knowledge on safeguarding & Child protection for developing a safe workplace. To ensure that safeguarding standards are used in every course of action, team members should practice, advocate, and embrace safeguarding policy concerns.
