Additional Requirements

  • At least 4 year experiences in accounting and administrative section in NGOs
  • Skilled in procurement, inventory management, VAT/Tax and financial reporting.
  • Conversant in common IT applications (MS word, MS excel, internet browsing & e-mail communications)
  • Good working relationships with colleagues, partners and external actors
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, priorities workload and ‘multitask’
  • Knowledge and experiences on the uses of accounting software

Responsibilities & Context

Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org> is an organization for sustainable development working in the greater Chattogram division since 1985. YPSA is implementing a project on “People’s Adaptation Plans (PAPs) for Inclusive Climate Smart Cities” in Chattogram Division (Feni, Laksam & Mirsharai Upazila) in partnership with Save the Children. YPSA is inviting application from experienced professionals with proven track records for the following position for the Project.

Job Title: Accountant and Admin Officer

Job Location (Working Area): Feni/Laksam/ Mirsharai Upazila

Duration: 1st August 2024 to 31st May 2025

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Project coordinator for developing project budget, financial plan and report
  • Manage all financial operations and ensure logistics & administrative support to the project.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial practices, including cash management, financial disbursements, ledgers, VAT & TAX, all types of payment etc and maintain all financial records
  • Ensure financial control as per requirements.
  • Review and monitor the budget with actual expenditure as regular basis to ensure that program funds are utilized appropriately,
  • Prepare Budget Expenses Summary (BES) for compare the Expenditure trends with approve budget and provide report to Project Manager
  • Take/Assist to take action against budget & budgetary Controlling.
  • Maintain cash book, ledger book and others registers like stock register, inventory, fixed assets etc.
  • Maintain all sorts of bank transaction.
  • Maintain all documents and record for any purchase procedures
  • Assist to maintain donor agreements, staff contract, staff personal files, staff attendance register, staff movement, leave register, asset register and documents as per requirements.
  • Coordinate the internal and external audit teams
  • Submit financial report to YPSA and donors as per their requirements
  • Maintain gender-sensitive approach in all stages and maintain safeguarding measures
  • Monitor and follow up Project activities in the targeted areas.
  • Any other task assigned by the Management
