Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

  • A “Head of Sales (Leather)” is a senior-level responsible for overseeing and managing all sales activities related to leather products or goods within a company. This role typically exists in businesses that manufacture, distribute, or retail leather items, such as leather apparel, accessories, furniture, or automotive components.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and profit targets for leather products.
  • Lead and manage the sales team, including sales managers, representatives, and support staff.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and opportunities for growth in the leather industry.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners.
  • Create sales plans and set sales targets for the team and individual sales representatives.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the company’s leather products, including their features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
  • Develop sales forecasts and monitor sales performance against targets.
  • Manage the sales department’s budget, including expenses, commissions, and incentives.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to sales team members to improve their skills and performance.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and present them to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that all sales activities and processes comply with company policies and industry regulations.
