Salary and benefits:

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context

Arannayk Foundation thrives to promote the conservation and restoration of natural tropical forests, forest biodiversity, and natural resources of Bangladesh. The foundation was established in 2003 under a “debt-for-nature-swap provision” made through an agreement signed between the Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh and the Government of the United States.  Since then, the foundation has provided financial and technical support to various local NGOs to implement more than a hundred projects that contributed to forest restoration, biodiversity conservation, and livelihood improvement of forest-dependent communities to reduce their dependence on forest resources for earning a living. The foundation is registered as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee under the Bangladesh Companies Act 1994 having no share capital. Arannayk Foundation registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh.

The foundation is, among others, implementing the Plastic Reduction Initiative in Sundarbans Transboundary International Natural Ecosystems (PRISTINE) project at Mongla, Bagerhat, and ecotourism sites of Sundarbans. This project aims to reduce plastic pollution occurring upstream and downstream of the Sundarbans, provide technical solutions to track plastic pollution, monitor and record waste picker’s recycling activities, promote awareness of pollution reduction, and facilitate the socio-economic development of waste pickers to sustain project outcomes.  Arannayk Foundation is looking for a young, energetic, and skilled incumbent for immediate appointment as an Office Assistant for the PRISTINE Project.

The Office Assistant will be responsible for the implementation of all maintenance of the cleaning, safety, and security of the office under his/her assigned area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support for maintaining the security, safety and cleanliness of the office.
  • Pickup and delivery of mail and messages to the project personnel and other mail recipients.
  • Assist in organizing meetings, training, conferences, and workshops and provide support for logistics arrangements.
  • Provide office management support services such as filing, storekeeping, photocopying, printing, banking transactions, communication, paying bills and collecting financial and administrative documents, arranging stationeries, repair, and maintenance of offices, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Assist in organizing field trips for the project staff.
  • Assist in repairing, maintenance, and servicing works of the office equipment and vehicles.
  • Assist in keeping the office equipment, stationeries, publications, furniture, and fixtures in safe custody and maintaining their inventory.
  • Assist in maintaining attendance/timekeeping and movement register.
  • Assist in keeping administrative and financial records including documents, vouchers, registers, receipts, etc. in safe custody for submission to AF and to comply with the audit requirements.
  • Assist in entertaining guests and visitors, as and when needed.
  • Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the Project Manager, the Field Coordinator, and other AF senior staff members.
