  • Masters in Information Management/Information Science/Computer Science/Information Technology/Statistics or a related Subject.

    management, or a related field is typically required.

  • Knowledge of database management, document management,

    and content management systems. Essential expertise on

    advanced MS Excels, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Access, Kobo

    tools, Google docs/ sheets and other data management tools.

  • Familiarity with information security practices and protocols.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand and interpret complex

    information and data.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are

    essential. Ability to convey complex technical information to nontechnical

    persons.

  • Understanding of relevant regulations and compliance

    requirements related to information management, such as data

    protection laws and organization-specific regulatlons.

  • Tendency for frequent field visits and evidence-based reporting.
  • Able to speak & understand the Rohingya/ Chlttagonian Language.

Responsibilities & Context

Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the position of ‘‘Information Management Specialist’’ from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for implementing ‘Education and Protection for Refugee Children (EPRC) Project’ funded by UNHCR located at Ukhiya in Cox’sBazar.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implementing reporting system and documentation as per project needs.
  • Ensure quality data to measurethe impact of the project intervention through various approaches using both qualitative and quantitative processes.
  • Measure sustainability and documentation of different project interventions.
  • Create and develop data structure and analysis report to track the project objective.
  • Work with management to prioritize activities and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Overall coordination of research activities (quantitative and qualitative) of different components of the Project.
  • Research and review of field testing materials, publications, manuals and reports.
  • Overseeing data collection and entry.
  • Conducting meetings/focus group discussions.
  • Arrange group discussions to identify challenges for data quality, data collection and data posting.
  • Report writing of collective and research data.
  • Document all case studies, case records, periodic reports, training reports, monthly reports, stock reports and other necessary docs.
  • Assist Project Coordinator for different report writing.
  • Coordinate with the Coordinator for data verification and evaluation of the program.
  • Participate in CMTWG meetings and represent the organization on sector level.
  • Understanding and abiding by the relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to information management, such as data protection laws and DONOR-specific regulations on data sharing, data processing or other form of affairs related to data.
  • Documentation and ICT Support:
  • To assist the Case Manager and Case Management Officer for monthly documentation of child profile.
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement database, data collection system, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain database/data system.
  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Provide technical support for the Case Manager, Centre Manager and Officers to ensure the optimised use of the provided device (Laptop / Tab)
  • Provide training to CP staff for CPIMS+ operation. Provide individual and camp-based feedback to the respective personnel on it.
  • Performing the main role to ensure data posting on CPIMS+, Kobo database, Activity info& Progress v4.
  • Overseeing the whole management information system of Case Management for the project’s needs.
  • To assist the Centre Manager for preparing the monthly MPC child profile. Develop database system forMPC and AdCchildren attendance.
  • Assist in developing different IEC materials for MPC.
  • Keep track of monthly project performance tracking.
  • Extensive field visits on ongoing activities close monitoring, minimum 3 days in a week and provide hands-on support to the staff.
  • Submit weekly progress report/field visit report to the project coordinator.
  • Technical activities:
  • The Information Management Specialist will work to implement of effective documentation and Information Management System of project interventions through better interpretation of collected field data and analysis in line with project strategy. IMS will coordinate with CPCMC and CPS by providing different camp-based analyses as needed.S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy. Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
