Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

Shapla Mohila Sangstha (SMS) is a non-government women rights organization working for the advancement of poor and brothel base women and children, excluded people since 1997. SMS has long working experiences on child protection i.e. care, protection, shelter and empowerment of trafficking and abusing girls/children who are forced to prostitution.

SMS is implementing a program under the title Enhancing Protection of Child Sex Trafficking Survivors in Bangladesh funded by Freedom Fund (FF) London and USAID. This program is being implemented at nine brothel different district. The organization is currently searching a Program Manager (PM) to implement field level activities successfully.

Working mentality with most vulnerable and sensitive communities

Contractual- Fixed Term Contract (12 months).

Organized and Implementation the all Project activities with frequently field visit.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coordinate, and develop the capacity of all project staff according to the policy of SMS and according to the objective of the project.
  • Provide support and guidance to develop, review, oversee and review project strategy and activities related to the implementation of the project according to the project design, risk, and challenges encountered during implementation.
  • Provide technical assistance for the design of the project’s monitoring and evaluation strategy. Support in developing an M&E system to measure profitability and relevant business indicators of targeted displaced families.
  • Monitor, identify, and advise on challenges and risks facing the implementation of the project.
  • Ensuring the provision of quality data on a timely basis for internal project management and external reporting purposes.
  • Lead project planning, implementation, and maintaining close collaboration with donor and SMS.
  • Facilitate the team members to internalize different conceptual and methodological documents as well as processes.
  • Assist all staff to develop an effective and coordinated work plan and maintain smooth coordination and team spirit within the pools as well as within the team, ensure regular sharing among the team members about achievements, experiences and learning.
  • Arrange training, workshop and learning session according to the Project staff performance
  • Provide technical, managerial and logistic support to team for effective implementation of the project activities.
  • Take responsibilities to integrate different units such as operation, monitoring, rapid response, logistic team and other units working in the same area.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly plan and progress reports, Also observation reports and expenditure reports
  • Attend the coordination meeting and maintain liaison with Donor, relevant Government Department and Local Government., and other organizations and provide assistance to them as and when required.
  • Arrange field schedule and accompany visitors and explain the project activities.
  • Facilitate in creating a gender sensitive working environment within the team as well as organization. Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
