Requirements

  • Good Verbal and written communication skills\
  • Knowledgeable with Safeguarding, PSHEA, HR policy & Procedures, National and international law
  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience is preferable especially in Inquiry or handling of disciplinary cases

Job Purpose

The Senior Officer, Inquiry will be responsible for conducting an inquiry of different programs complying with BRAC Inquiry Guidelines, BRAC HRPP, Safeguarding Policy, Prevention of Sexual Harassment Exploitation & Abuse (PSHEA) and related Policies/SOP to produce qualitative reports, maintaining BRAC values for achieving organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare an inquiry plan for an effective investigation by studying the assigned complaint letter, assessing the risk, developing a checklist, preparing questionnaires, and identifying potential interviewees and evidence.
  • Communicate with the respective person/management to get necessary support during the inquiry.
  • Conduct an inquiry following the procedure, guidelines, and HRPP while maintaining confidentiality to find the actual facts.
  • Prepare interviews for relevant individuals/witnesses and keep written records with dates and signatures from both sides, ensuring due process.
  • Conclude the inquiry by collecting statements of relevant witnesses and evidence/documents to maintain the inquiry’s objectivity.
  • Prepare a draft inquiry report and send it to the review team for conducting the review hearing session.
  • Prepare show cause notice as per findings and assist the review team in sending the show cause letter/review hearing notice to the subject of a complaint to ensure the right of hearing.
  • Submit final report to respective Manager within stipulated time by maintaining quality for presenting in the SGMC forum.
  • Attend the SGMC forum and actively present inquiry findings with evidence/documents for making proper decisions by the forum members.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
