Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.

Experience

  • 12 to 16 years

  • In-depth knowledge of the apparel industry, including trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in market analysis and strategic planning.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in merchandising software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel for sourcing, vendor meetings, and market research.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies that align with company goals and market trends.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering the right products with quality and on-time delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and onboard new customers to drive organizational growth.
  • Collaborate with design and product development teams to create innovative and market-appropriate product lines.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers; negotiate terms and conditions to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Oversee the sales planning and inventory management processes to ensure optimal stock levels and meet customer demand.
  • Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive positioning.
  • Lead and mentor the merchandising team, providing guidance and support to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Develop and manage budgets for merchandising activities, ensuring cost-effective operations while maximizing profitability.
  • Ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with other departments, including marketing, sales, production, and logistics, to ensure a seamless operation from concept to consumer.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on merchandising performance, including sales, inventory, and financial metrics.
