Responsibilities & Context

BEETLSL, a distinguished environmental consultancy firm in Bangladesh, boasts an in-house laboratory facility dedicated to environmental engineering and accredited by the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB).

We are actively recruiting an Associate Social Consultant to contribute to our ongoing projects.

Associate Social Consultant is responsible for the Overall management of BEETLSL, including Monitoring, Reporting, Site visits, Consultation, Item maintenance, or any work as per Management Decision may be changed at any time but is not limited to:

1. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

  • Assist in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Initial Environmental Examinations (IEE) for the project.
  • Collect and analyze data related to the environmental aspects of the project.
  • Prepare reports on potential environmental impacts and suggest mitigation

2. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence

  • Ensure the project complies with local, national, and international environmental regulations and standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to secure necessary environmental permits and licenses.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental laws and standards throughout the project lifecycle.

3. Environmental Monitoring and Sampling

  • Assist in developing and implementing environmental monitoring plans.
  • Regularly monitor air, water, soil, and noise levels at the project site.
  • Regularly collection of samples for soil, surface water, ground water & drinking water for laboratory testing.
  • Prepare and submit environmental monitoring reports to project stakeholders and funding agencies.

4. Sustainability and Resource Management

  • Promote the adoption of sustainable practices in construction, such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, and resource conservation.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the sustainable use of resources, including water and materials.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with local communities and stakeholders to address environmental concerns.
  • Participate in public consultations and meetings to discuss the environmental aspects of the project.
  • Prepare and distribute communication materials related to environmental management.

6. Mitigation and Remediation Plans

  • Assist in designing and implementing mitigation plans to minimize adverse environmental impacts.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of mitigation measures and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Support the development of remediation plans for environmental restoration post-construction.

7. Training and Capacity Building

  • Provide training and guidance to project staff on environmental management practices.
  • Assist in building the capacity of local teams to ensure ongoing compliance with environmental standards.

8. Collaboration with International Experts

  • Work closely with international environmental experts and consultants to align the project with global best practices.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and the adaptation of international standards to the local context.

9. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of environmental assessments, compliance documentation, and monitoring data.
  • Prepare regular environmental reports for submission to funding agencies, government bodies, and other stakeholders.

10. Risk Management

  • Identify potential environmental risks associated with the project and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Monitor and report on environmental risk factors during project implementation.

Good English communication skills (verbal and Written)

Laboratory testing

Monitoring and Reporting

Must have advance level skills in MS Office software

Observation and recommendations capability with risk assesment
