Responsibilities & Context

  • The overall purpose of this position is to ensure provision of high quality standard Minimum Essential Service Package (MESP) of the MOHWF and Health Sector at Primary Health Care Center. S/he is responsible to deliver lifesaving medical services, often through providing emergency care prior to stabilization and referral to the appropriate referral facility and oversees the provision of quality health care within the Health Facilities (HF), ensuring consultations and treatments are done in line with relevant clinical protocols, guidelines and prescribed best practices. S/he works on a rotation basis throughout all the clinic locations including out of area postings, when needed. S/he ensures that the patient consultation records, and clinic registers are completed according to Save the Children, Health Sector and MoH requirements.
  • Provide clinical consultation, treatment, and follow-up services in accordance with accepted standards (BRAC/Ministry of Health/World Health Organization) ensuring patients are treated in a dignified and appropriate manner.
  • Ensure integrated care for newborns and children through emergency, out patient, and in patient services.
  • Provide high quality care to patients based on history, appropriate physical examination, available laboratory tests, imaging tests, and formulary for treatment of acute and chronic conditions, including the use of appropriate checklists.
  • In the Inpatient unit, conduct daily rounds on patients, initiate case discussions, monitor and document patient progress with any changes in management and prognosis and ensure adequate handover.
  • Oversee the smooth running of the clinical service and its patient flow.
  • Provides emergency care prior to stabilisation and referral to the appropriate referral facility.
  • Ensure identification and facilitation of referral pathways, including safe patient transfer, accurate documentation and patient follow up, adhered to BRAC protocols.
  • Ensure notifiable disease reporting and follow-up system is used if required.
  • Utilize data collection tools and ensure patients records and clinic registers are completed according to both BRAC and Ministry of Health requirements.
  • Complete standardized internal reporting as required.
  • Provides medical support and mentorship to other clinical staff and on-the-job training as needed.
  • Maintain coordination with different component of the facility like Logistics, Pharmacy, WASH, IPC & Maternity etc.
  • Maintain good collaboration with Community Health team to encourage referral from community and follow-up of the patient’s received treatment from BRAC Health facility
  • Maintain external coordination with different stakeholders when required.
  • Performs any other relevant tasks assigned within the reasonable scope of this job description by the line manager.
  • Ensure the timely, complete, and quality collection of the required reporting requests by the MEAL team, including support with any patient feedback mechanisms, audits, and quality of care checklists.
  • Ensures patient data protection and confidentiality of patient data.
  • Actively participate in any internal meetings and any other relevant external meetings as required.
  • Carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects BRAC commitment in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
