Knit Asia Limited (Shafipur) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sr. Executive/Executive- Sustainability (EMS, ETP & ECR) for Environmental & Chemical Compliance to join our Compliance team in Gazipur. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, monitoring, and ensuring the factory’s adherence to environmental and chemical regulations as per buyer Codes of Conduct (COC) and relevant standards. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to improve environmental and chemical performance, ensuring compliance with both local regulations and international standards.
Responsibilities:
- Compliance Monitoring: Evaluate, monitor, and ensure the factory’s compliance with environmental, chemical, and buyer COC regulations and standards.
- Goal Setting: Develop and implement short-term and long-term objectives and targets to drive continual improvement in environmental and chemical performance.
- Risk Management: Analyze environmental aspects and impacts, implementing mitigation measures for significant environmental and chemical risks.
- Standards Implementation: Work on industry-leading standards and initiatives such as HIGG FEM, Clean Chain, BVE3, Bhive, GRI SBTi, AWS, RCS, GRS, OCS, GOTS, OEKO-TEX 100, and Step by OEKO-TEX Mig.
- Program Management: Maintain and enhance the buyer’s chemical management program, water management program, environmental management program, and waste management program.
- Audit Preparation: Prepare and maintain records for energy, water, wastewater, and other consumption metrics as per audit requirements.
- Inventory Management: Prepare and manage chemical and wastage inventories according to buyer requirements.
- Documentation: Collect and manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Technical Data Sheets (TDS), test reports, and RSL/MRSL declaration letters from chemical suppliers, and distribute them to relevant departments.
- Training & Development: Conduct chemical and environmental training sessions to meet audit requirements and enhance staff awareness.
- Regulatory Compliance: Work on obtaining and maintaining necessary licenses, such as Acid licenses and Environmental Clearance Certificates (ECC).
- Coordination: Coordinate with third-party agencies for chemical testing, wastewater testing, calibration, and environmental assessments in line with guidelines such as ZDHC, RSL/MRSL, and HIGG FEM.
- ETP & Wastewater Monitoring: Oversee the monitoring of Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) and wastewater management to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other tasks assigned by management to support the company’s compliance objectives.
