Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemical Technical/Engineering, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Science
  • Occupational Safety & Health Management (OSHM).

    Experience

      Manufacturing (Light Engineering and Heavy Industry), Group of Companies, Steel

    Additional Requirements

      The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):

      • IFC’s Performance Standards on Environmental & Social Sustainability, E&S/Labor audit from International lenders (e.g. IFC, World Bank, DEG etc.), Fire Safety Management, Health Safety and Environment.

      • HSE&S related certifications from accredited institutions (e.g. NEBOSH / IOSH and Fire Safety Manager Course of 6 months duration from BFSCD) will be an added advantage.

      Responsibilities & Context

      Job Responsibilities:  

      • Work as the key point of contact at the assigned work location for managing and implementing the project and operational HSE&S requirements following the MGI and the lender’s (IFC, World Bank Group) E&S performance standard.

      • Develop a plant level Health, Safety, Environmental & Social (HSE&S) manual, related procedures, guidelines, forms and checklists following the MGI EHS policy / guidelines and then assist plant management for its implementations.

      • Prepare reports and documentation to meet the lender’s (IFC, World Bank Group) requirements related to any HSE&S aspects, ESAP and implement those at site in coordination with the site management team.

      • Work closely with the site management team and provide guidance for accomplishments on lender’s HSE&S requirements and adherence to compliance.

      • Lead the site HSE&S programs and initiatives to prevent HSE&S incidents.

      • Visit sites, perform toolbox meetings, HSE&S inspections and audits and any other HSE&S good practices as per country local legislation and the lender’s performance standard.

      • Ensure accuracy and other ad hoc responsibilities related to HSE&S in day-to-day tasks that will have been assigned by the reporting manager/supervisor based on job scope.
